Will eating foods high in healthy fats cause me to gain weight if I'm diabetic?

Asked a year ago

I've been dealing with diabetes for a few years. I've decided to embark on a weight-loss journey and improve my eating habits. My doctor advised me to consume healthy fats, and I enjoy salmon and avocado. I'm concerned that eating too many of these healthy fats will cause me to gain weight. Is this accurate?

Though an unpopular opinion, healthy fats will not necessarily make you gain weight. Several papers have noted that a weight loss meal plan is more effective when you combine a high-fat and low-carb diet than with a low-fat and high-carb diet. Do your body well; take some healthy fats, reduce your sugar intake, and remain in shape.
