Is it possible to reverse diabetes if I lose weight through meal planning?

I have had type 2 diabetes for six months and am overweight. I've never been much of a gym goer, but I'd like to change my eating habits and lose a few pounds. My doctor suggested that I try meal prep to jumpstart my weight loss journey. I'm wondering if I can reverse my diabetes by losing weight and eating healthier?

There is adequate evidence to show that losing weight and eating healthier can reverse type 2 diabetes. A paper by the American Diabetes Association suggests that losing as little as 3% to 5% of your body weight will control diabetes. However, losing up to 15kg will reverse diabetes according to Taylor et al. (2021)
