Is a protein bar a good pre workout snack?

I like doing the one and done workout in the mornings and since I’m not a big fan of eating a huge breakfast before my workouts, I eat a protein bar instead. Is that a good pre-workout snack? Would that give me enough energy?

Breakfasts tend to be made with a variety of whole food that are healthy, so protein bars won't quite compare. However, they are great as a quick breakfast snack. I would recommend choosing protein bars that don't contain added sugar and hydrogenated oils. Higher carbs, moderate fat and moderate protein bars can be an ideal choice, ideally and hour or two before your workout. Instead of eating protein bars every day, alternate with fresh fruits and vegetables for a nutritional boost.
