Does exercise need to hurt for me to get the best results?

Hi everybody. I really hope this question makes sense to you all. I was working out and didn't struggle while doing the exercises. When my sister heard this she mentioned that exercises need to "hurt" for them to work but I am not sure if that's true.

On the contrary, exercise does not have to hurt to be effective. While some discomfort or mild muscle soreness may be normal after an exercise session, exercise should not hurt so much that it leads to distress or injury. What matters is that you find an exercise routine that is enjoyable, sustainable, and suitable for your fitness level and goals.
