Does meal planning assist a diabetic in losing belly fat?

I recently received a diabetes diagnosis and am overweight. My doctor was concerned about my excess belly fat, and I don't want to develop any additional complications due to the condition. I want to lose belly fat but am hesitant to work out in a gym. My friend suggested I try meal planning, and is it appropriate for this?

Meal planning is a good way to lose belly fat and some weight since it measures the food intake, food type, and timing of meals - all of which are important in weight loss. If unsure of what to include, you can work with a nutritionist or dietitian to plan your meals.
