If I'm a type 2 diabetic, do I need to prioritize breakfast to lose more weight?

I was recently diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and would like to begin losing weight. My weight has been a struggle for me, and I'd like to kickstart it with meal plans. I've never been a fan of eating early in the day, and I'm wondering if I should start breakfast to achieve better weight loss results?
