Can regular exercise help lower cholesterol?

Asked 2 years ago

Hey, y'all! So, I'm a 45-year-old woman and I'm wondering if working out can actually help lower your cholesterol. I Have heard some people say it can so I was just curious whether it can!

Exercise can definitely improve cholesterol. But it's never just regular exercise on its own that will lower it, but it is a great start and small changes add up. Eating heart-healthy foods, losing even a few extra pounds contributes to lowering cholesterol. Skip the sugary drinks and keep track of your calories. Drinking alcohol in moderation is also very important. I would say that it alwasy helps to speak to your doctor about lowering your cholesterol too. They might just prescribe medication to help lower your cholesterol in tandem with lifestyle changes, if you do struggle with high cholesterol.
