Can I exercise while sick?

I’ve been sick with a slight cold for the last week and I have not been exercising as much. I miss working out and was wondering if it’s ok to exercise while sick. Would it be ok or should I rest completely?

It may be safe to exercise if you only have slight cold symptoms. In that case, you can exercise at moderate intensity, making sure not to over-exert yourself. However, if your symptoms are more pronounced, it is best to rest from exercising as exercise stresses your body more and prolongs recovery.
