Do you think exercise can be a form of self-care for someone?

Asked a year ago

I'm a 46 year old woman and I've been thinking about what more I can add to my self-care routine! I've been told by my daughter that exercise can actually be a form of self-care, but I'm not too sure. Can it possibly be true? Exercise always just sounds exhausting to me!

Being physically active may not be the first thing you think of when it comes to self-care. Normally we would think of a candle-lit bath, or quiet meditation in a relaxed environment. But it is a really important part of taking care of ourselves. Movement and being active is vital in taking care of our body AND mind. Improving our health, happiness, and overall well-being is necessary and essential for self-care. Not only that, exercise is ideal for managing weight, improving our mood, improving our brain function, strengthening muscles and bones, improving sleep, increasing energy and longevity and so much more!
