If I'm diabetic, do I need to eat small, frequent meals to lose weight?

Asked a year ago

My mom has been living with diabetes most of her adult life. She struggles with her weight, and I want us to lose weight together this year. We usually have all three main meals of the day but don't pay much attention to our portion sizes. Should we try smaller and frequent meals for the best results?

Optimal weight loss requires a combination of factors, including the amount of food eaten, the type of meal eaten, and the timing of the food. The general idea is to take in lesser calories than you can burn in a day, creating an energy deficit that leads to weight loss.
