![]() | Hi Ossie, I would like to know if I should polenta into my diet plan? |
![]() | crazydot Sugar substitutes have recently grown in popularity, providing those who are sensitive to sugar, such as diabetics, an alternative to sugar that sweetens but does not affect blood sugar levels. Stevia is derived from natural substances, unlike other sugar substitutes, such as Equal or Nutrisweet. I hope this helps Read more: http://www.livestrong.com/article/31753-stevia-extract/#ixzz2VBIwzXxu |
![]() | Hi my name is Debra and I’ve only just signed up to TDC. I’m busy reading all the material and looking at healthier food choices so am going to start slowly and try and get used to not having all that sugar and junk in my diet. I live in Australia – some of the recipes look a bit daunting – some of the foods I have never heard of. For example, what is Stevia?? A bit of research needed I think. Anyway, fingers crossed I can do this. |
![]() | It has been a month since I started and I have lost 9 pounds! I can’t express how happy I am with this. I am very active in all forms of exercise and was so frustrated with the scale not budging. After starting this program I thought I would never be able to eat all the food that is on the generated menu. On the weekends it is tough because we are always out, but now my brain thinks differently and I try and keep on track. I can’t always eat that last snack of the day because there are not enough hours in my day to do this, but I do what I can and keep pushing! |
![]() | yep it is tuff and so is my typing.am trying to get started and finding out the right things to do |
![]() | Hi, Sandrae. Rice flour can’t be used for puff pastry on its own, but rather needs to be combined with other flours – at least a 1:1 ratio (1 part rice flour to 1 part other flours, such as millet or quinoa). |
![]() | Hi Ossie Sharon is their no answer to my question below |
![]() | Hi Ossie Sharon Can you tell me why when I make rice flour pastry it’s so hard to roll out because it just crumbles up I have to patch work it in the tin to make the Healthy Veg Quiche is this normal Thank you for your reply |
![]() | Hi, pecohen, and welcome. That is what we recommend. Ease into the program, and take your time with it. Gradual changes are more likely to stick long-term. |
![]() | The many comments on sweets make me think I have some encouragement to offer. Years ago I completely stopped adding sugar to anything other than food for my humming-bird feeders and I rarely use any sweetener at all, though occasionally I’ll put a bit of stevia on something. I read labels and avoid buying any food that specifies more than 4 grams of sugar per serving and if there is a choice with less that is what I buy. The encouragement I would offer is my own experience – after doing the above for just a couple weeks I started finding sweet foods unappealing. I really don’t even want to eat them – and I used to think I had a sweet-tooth that would never go away. |
![]() | I recently started the program and follow exactly during the week but on weekends if I go out with friends I end up right back where I started. This is the point where I get frustrated and want to quit. Any suggestions. |
![]() | As for drinks, Look at your menu, at the bottom there is a comment about ‘non fattening drinks’ which may help, presumably the volume can be subtracted from the water requirement. |
![]() | Hi Keith, on this long weekend there might she may be busy. But I can answer a bit. Yes you eat everything on the menu generated. It is calculated to be the right balance of foods so that you will lose weight gradually. We all have said it is too much food, but I have lost 17 lb since January, just eating all that food. If you don’t have an item, click on the link at the end of the item on the menu and find an alternate food. If that fails, try for something that seems appropriate and ask, you will get an answer. |
![]() | Hi Ossie my last reply has not generated a response. I can not progress with the menue plan untill I can get clarification on my last reply regarding the amounts of food in each days menue.I live in Australia and some items are not avalable in my supermarket. Can the teas ,coffees and soft drinks be deducted from the amount of water required daily.regards Keith Spencer |
![]() | I need some answers. (1) do I make a selection from the items in my daily menu list,or am I expected to eat all the items listed in the meals and snacks this is important to me I’m not a big eater. |
