The 21 day starter diet has lots of milk and dairy in it. I am allergic to these. I realize I can crreate my own food lists, but can I change these items on the starter menu??

Hello all
I have been on program for second week I have been using my own menu and it seems not to work but I am eating healthy and watching portions. I am tracking my food and keeping within range of the calories. but I know this will not really work as I lost nothing but have not gained either. thanks Dee

I’m looking for a recipe to make raw granola, any suggestions?

Hi, Mare. Brick and block cheese is the same thing – hard cheese.

Hi, Brenda. Some of the lesser known foods are called the same thing in the UK. Here is a link to a shopping guide – https://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-uk. One of the links, http://www.goodnessdirect.co.uk provides some information about the foods, too.

What is the difference between brick and block cheeses?

Brenda48 11 years ago

New member, also in UK. Is there any kind of list that gives English equivalents to some foods I have never heard of? Where do you shop?

Hi, mare1969, and welcome! Clarified butter is very similar to butter but is less prone to harmful oxidation when cooking, The most important choice when making the selection, though, is to try to find “pastured” butter, as the fats themselves are healthier. The 1 cup refers to raw, but if it is on the “free” list, it doesn’t really matter.

I forgot another question – veggies – you reference 1 cup of cetain veggies, but is that 1 cup raw or cooked?

I am new to this diet and have tried many before – hoping this works – have one question, one of many i am sure. I read that you recomment butter instead of magerine and that is fine, but I did not see of the list of foods anything about butter. I saw clarified butter, but that is not the same, or is it? Thanks

Hi, Vanessa. First, just to clarify – are you actually physically hungry in the evenings? If so, please repost here, and I will troubleshoot solutions with you.
Second, if the hunger is not physical, the solutions I’ve seen be most effective have been
1. Sipping on something instead of munching – if it is something healthy like lemon water or herbal tea, it can even help with boosting weight loss and health.
2. Finding something to do that you like just as much, but which will not work against your weight and health efforts. This can be combined with #1.
3. The ultimate distraction: exercise every time you feel the munchies coming on. Either take a walk somewhere pretty, or turn on the TV and walk in place through a good show or movie.

Hi Can anyone encourage me. I need some tricks to stave off the ‘munchies’ in the evenings. I have had a good two weeks but now I am missing my old habits of eating snacks all evening. Any trick to stop me snacking too much or to make me feel fuller?

Hi everybody you might have read my post a few days ago I posted that I was cheeting and trying to make up for it –well it doesn’t work-no loss this past week even doing four days of aerobics. But I did learn something important. I live in osoyoos canada and the only sprouted grain bread I can get is Silver Hills. And it’s very good bread it doesn’t bother my gluten sensitivity. BUT each slice is MORE than an oz. it’s unusual. Most bread slices are normally one oz. but I finally got a kitchen scale and checked it it. Each slice is 40 grams. One oz is approx 28 grams. I’ve Been Having too much!!! Check these things once in a while I guess
