Hi I’m new and excited to get started…but I’m feeling stuck. As I review and try to get prepped, I find it very difficult to prepare for shopping/cooking for just 1 or sometimes maybe 2 people. For the most part it will just be me and I find it hard to say buy a packet of something and use it up before it goes bad or cooking in advance, for something that you can only have a little amount of. Can anyone please give tips & ideas on shopping & cooking? I’d REALLY appreciate it! 🙂
Rachel0207 asked about a month ago without any replies. “I am in week #3. Still learning the way around this program. Since I did have a couple of tries of different programs in the past, my biggest concern is variety. I have learned if I get bored with foods I eat, I lose interest.
Here is what I have a problem with, I am the only one in my family on this program now. I made Sweet Potato soup. I like it a lot. However I can only have 1 cup at a time and the recipe is for 16 servings. I do not think it will freeze well.
Same problem with many recipes. I read many entries in different discussions. Most of the time it is one or two persons on the program. Unfortunately in many cases it is not easy to adjust a recipe to a lesser number of servings. Any suggestions?”

Progress report: Yesterday, Monday 9/14/15 was the start of my 3rd. week in Trim Down Club. I’ve lost 7 pounds. I’ve been exercising at a women’s gym since May/15 and here are the results of dieting and exercising so far.
Weight: lost 14 lbs. (haven’t been to the gym in about 2 months – started back today)
Bust: lost 2 3/4 inches
Waist: gained .37 inches
Abdomen: lost 2 8/10 inches
Hips: lost 5 1/2 inches
Thighs: lost 1 inch
Calves: gained 1/8 of an inch
Upper arms: lost 1/8 of an inch
I’m so proud of myself!

Kat 99: I’ll hard boil roughly 1/2 dozen eggs, per week. I’ll eat these with salt and pepper or I’ll add one to my salad when my menu calls for sald. Also, I’ll mash one up, add a pat of butter/a little mayo and use it as egg salad on 1/2 Eng. muffin or a slice of rye or pumpernickel bread. Also, If I’m out of the hard boiled eggs, I’ll poach an egg and have it on top of 1/2 a whole grain English muffin. We can use eggs in so many delicious ways.

I love love love..the packets of the good season zesty italian dressing. I make with different balsamic vinegars… and different oils. Is there a recipe for the dry ingredients out there? That may be healthier?

I’ve got two weeks under my belt and I can pull that belt a tad tighter today. Thank you Trim Down Club! I’ve had several people state “You’ve lost weight!” My answer always is: “I’m trying!” And that is all we can do, one day at a time, is attempt to do our best food and exercise wise. Today was grocery shopping day. I got all the foods I will need for next week’s meal plans starting Mon. – Sun. I got my exercise, up and down the grocery aisles, lugging it all to and into the car and then lugging it all out of the car and putting it all away. Then I went out and trimmed my few bushes. A little later, before it rains, I’ll go out and clean off my patio and driveway, wash my back stairs, railings and carpet. That will be enough exercise for today. 🙂 If we stick to our menu plans faithfully and do exercise at least 3x a week, we will see results. It works, if we work it.

I am new to Trimdown and am learning to navigate the menu taking my time and trying to at least include many items in my diet. I really got a lot of information from the video on the Grocery Store Tour. Trying to exercise and drinking water too.

I do not have time to listen to the videos. I really want to see them on my screen IN PRINT. How can I do this?
I had some advice to hit the back button, but I cant find that on the video page.

Hi, kat99. You can have a fruit or vegetable plus a starchy carbohydrate serving such as an ounce of crackers, or instead if you wish, another protein such as an ounce of cheese.

I started drinking water with the juice of one lemon every morning before breakfast. I put a small amt. of Stevia in it. Is there a benefit to lemon water that Trim Down club recognizes?

Hi, Anita. Meat, fish (and poultry) should be weighed before cooking, though with leaner items, it can be after as well.
