Day two for me. Not doing too badly. I am sticking to the basic plan of eating six meals a day and choosing from filling and healthy foods as best I can. I am taking the plan slowly and reading the posts that have proved to be a mine of information. I love the forums and taking part in the discussions. With all hands on deck we can steer this ship into calmer waters.

Hello Sabre,
I believe there are two ways to get to recipes. There is a heading at the top of the homepage to take you to the recipes. Also if you go into Apps and Menu planner, items on the menus with a recipe attached are marked. just place your curser on the mark and click it.

You are correct, this is an American system. nHowever ifb your intention like me is to loose weight then you should be able to understand enough of the foods to get along OK. Incidentally I only joined a few days ago.
If you are serious about loosing weight then Salad Cream is one of the foods to avoid. However the do have mayonaise and hollandaise sauce.
Terminology I am not sure about I google to find an explanation. I find Wikipedia quite useful. I am a little surprised by some of the things in their menu lists but since the system appears to work I am not going to knock it.
I did go through the menus and select everything I like but since I live on the Isle of Skye many of the products are not readily available so I am going to have to modify my diet.

Hi, I’m new here, feeling down as I live in Italy and am having trouble finding the food here. So I’m going to ajusting my meal planner yet again to help find alternatives to go shopping. I arrived in Italy 6 years ago (originally from Scotland) and was 65kilos but over the years has crept up to 92 kilos. I joined over a week ago but have yet to get started, so today is day 1

I like what you said, PattyBowker,how this lifeboat has turned into a cruise ship! Great way of seeing this journey, a ship full of like minded people out to lose weight but still having fun.
This diet has all the foods I love thanks to the questionnaire we are asked to fill out at the beginning.
I have so much weight to lose it feels daunting and somewhat impossible. I am trying to keep positive by daily ready the “newbies”.

This is a great link for people in the Uk. I live in Italy and am having a hard time finding stuff here. Getting down as I’m not sure if the meat options are right, can find any of the bread options especially yet 🙁

We have just expanded the list of shops that carry the foods we recommend. Please note that all the foods are found in both the US and the UK, but some may be new to many people, and so appear to be entirely “foreign”.

Hello every one. I am so exited about this. I made a shopping list today and dragged the family to Wal-Mart. I did not find every thing I was looking for, but at least I am on a great start. Had my first meal from my Menu and It was great. It did not leave me hungry for more. It was surprisingly satisfying. It is now 1:29 am and I am not raiding the fridge. This is great. Today better food in the house. Tomorrow I will work on time management to make time for all 6 meals. 298lb today. Who knows what it will be next week?

I signed up tonight. I’m turning the 50 this month….. So it is time to get with the health plan for getting the extra pounds off… I know it will make a huge difference in the way I see myself…. It is great to hear everyone’s thoughts and question..

im new as well and i found afer reading all the info from the foods to eat and buy is giving me more info….. i like that you can change you menu everyday….. hope i see results by the end of the month … good luck everyone

Hi Patty, Thank You! for the information, I will get the Bread. In some of the recipes it sounds like its a cracker or something because they are making a pie crust out of it.I also see alot of people are from the UK. I am from Florida USA. UK is on my bucket list.
