Hi, rprendergast. In the regular Menu Planner application, there are regular foods that we intentionally added to help with the process. You don’t have to use anything with which you are unfamiliar, we simply hope that you can upgrade (i.e., from white grains to whole grains, etc.). I took a look at your latest menu, and it seems pretty “regular” – are you still uncomfortable with it? Please let me know, and I would be happy to work with you.

I just joined and feel very overwhelmed with all this info. Is there an easy way to get started such as an easy one page menu for a week at a time with an easy grocery list. I’m not interested in exotic menus I just need something easy and down to earth to get started. I will save the fancy menus after I get going and get a feel for this. Thanks Rose

Hi, Tracy, and welcome! Yes, you can definitely do the mix thing. Just note that if you are a diabetic, try to to load up on too many carbs at one sitting.

Hi, Crackerjac, and welcome! You will find that list in the Menu Planner application (through “Apps” above) – when you move to the section where you start the actual planning, you will see the Free Foods button near the top of the page. I’m adding a link here as well: https://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner/?v=1425783876v17.

Hi, faytay. Yes, the intention is for you to eat everything. If you have been on restrictive diets in the past, it can indeed look like too much (though really it is tailored to your needs). Having said that, I noticed that your weight puts you on the border between two different menu levels. If you put “186” as your weight, it will drop you down, and you will get a bit less food.

Hello! I am new and I am wondering if any guidelines exist for eating out? Thanks in advance!

Do I need to eat everything on the daily menu? That is a lot of food! I am afraid I will gain weight as it is more than I normally eat!

Hi, Roelina, and congratulations on your weight loss! You’ve come to the right place to get your nutrition questions answered. If you need technical assistance, you can reach that support team through the “Contact Us” link below.
To get to the Menu Planner application, click on “Apps” above, and then on “Menu Planner.” It will take you to a page where you can go through the video tutorial or just start selecting foods to go in your menu. Once your menu has been generated, click on the “Grocery list” icon (third from the right) to generate a shopping list. To swap out foods, you can click on those in your finished menu, or view your menu pattern by clicking on “Exchange View” in the toolbar. The exchanges relate to the list located here – https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.

Where do you find the answer to the question you have asked, do we get a prompt for a reply?

My first week. Finding it hard to find some of the aids available. How do I get back to choosing the foods that I like so you can make a menu for me. How do I find the grocery list. I live most of the time in a very remote area and need to know how to exchange foods for others. Other than that I have lost 5 lbs. Eureka.

Hi, Skeezix. Keep drinking fluids. If you can manage soup, then just drink your meals. If you are a diabetic taking medication, definitely consult with your health care provider.

Is there a place to plug in recipe ingredients to find out how many carbs, proteins, etc there are to fit into the menu planner?

skeezix 10 years ago

What do you do when you are just too ill to eat or have no appetite?

Ossie-Sharon 10 years ago

Hi, LarryMorgan. You can use them to fit the recipe into your menu. Click on “Exchange view” in the toolbar above your finished menu, and you will see how the daily allotted exchanges are laid out.

Hi, BarbaraConn. The video discusses the most commonly available forms of popular foods, while we encourage seeking the healthiest versions rather than giving them up. Sprouted and/or “100%” whole wheat and organic fresh corn and corn meal products are wonderful, but “wheat” products with refined flours (even if brown) and corn syrups and conventional corn products can work against weight management and health improvement efforts.
