I started this plan on New Years Day and so far am down just over 8 lbs. Very happy with that. I even spluged and had a piece of cake, (ok a sliver) for my husbands birthday. I do have the luxury of living on a 40 acre farm and we always have had a nice big garden in the summer. I am still pulling carrots out of the ground as I use those with apples and cukes for my juice. 100% natural. I also dried bags and bags of apples, peaches, pears, cherries and raisins over the summer and fall, so I can have my fruit knowing there is absolutely no additives, all I use is a squeeze of lemon juice to prevent browning. I keep these in the freezer. Best investment is a dehydrator and juicer as they are my lifesavers. I have also switched to 100% whole wheat bread, english muffins and bagels for when I eat bread. (we live in a very small town and havent been able to find an SWG bread yet. What I am wondering is can I eat the 100% whole wheat/grain pasta?? I havent found any brown rice flour or pasta yet but plan to do so. Thanks for any help, and I too am feeling so full of engery. My birthday is in May an I hope to be close if not at my goal weight. Good luck to all.

I have been on the plan for a week now and dropped a pound a day for 7 days…I know it will level off soon, but amazed at how much energy I have and how content and satisfied I feel each day!

I started 1 week ago. I looked at the suggested menu. It suggested way more food than I normally eat. I decided to go slow. All I did was add a hardboiled egg to my mid morning snack ( apple) and moved it from 10:00 to 08:00. I also added a light mid afternoon snack ( handful of homemade trailmix). I cut out the roll I usually have at lunch with my soup.

Results: No measurable weight loss, BUT: ( and this is a big one) I found that I do NOT feel like a truck hit me by the time I got home. For the first time in many years, I do not have aching muscles at the end of the week. I would typically feel like I hit ‘the wall’ ( gone anaerobic) by the end of the workweek. I am not ravenously hungry when I get home. I am satisfied with even less food than before. My food intake has decreased, while what i eat has

Conclusion: I have been making healthy food choices and controlling portions for years, yet I have been starving myself between meals, believing that the time spent hungry would burn off the calories. I woke up this morning with energy to tackle my chores and projects. I think this will work – the maintaining more constant blood sugar will make a difference in the long haul.

What a wonderful site! I’m down 10 lb since Jan 1. It’s been up and down, so I may go up a bit again, but I am really happy.

Congratulations to everyone who is doing well, and keep in there, those who are on a plateau, this REALLY WORKS!

Having trouble with realistic meal planning for my family. We need quick and simple. Some of these recipes are bit too daring for us and who can afford to waste food?!?
Have not had any success yet. I plan m y meals but still seem to fail when I’m caring for my little ones. Help!

Hello. I am from Australia and I am one week in and have lost 800gm (1.76 pounds) without even trying! I have been unable to eat a LOT of the food as I was just too full (or usually the weather is just too hot) and would be ill if I tried to! However, I know that if I am feeling hungry (which is very rare at the moment) I know that I have to eat (as I usually have been frantically busy at work and haven’t noticed the time slip by). I am very impressed so far!!

I tried eating everything on the menu plan in the beginning of December to see if this is for me… strange combinations of food but it’s REAL FOOD – I lost 6 lbs in one week then the craziness of the holidays overtook me and now I’m back on track…. I substitute some of the meals from the recipe collection and it works for me. Been feeling under the weather with the cold/flu season but sticking with the meal plan – my first week has been rough but that’s from detoxifying I’m sure, feeling better and better each day. I think eliminating processed food is the key and eating small portions every two to three hours with larger intake in the beginning of the day and decreasing as the day unfolds is the trick to weight loss. It’s working for me 🙂

Day three for me. I feel really weird. Does your body go through some sort of detox???

Hello everyone–I’m just starting. Trying to figure where the menu. All the food preferences are complete now I can’t find the actual menu.
I’ve been ill for three years. The meds I’m on play hell with my appetite. Of course I ate all the wrong stuff. Now I hope I can satisfy my big appetite with the the right food.
I live in Fairbanks Alaska and its very hard to get fresh foods that look edible. However, I’m sure ill be able to make it work. I’m wishing us all good luck. I’ll keep u posted on my progress–/Debby

A reply from a new member on the other side of the pond. Over four decades I have been on every diet imaginable, and the surprising thing is that they all work! But I have learned that losing wieght and keeping it off requires life-style changes that make your nutritional choices a way of life. For me, portion control is the key: no meal over 400 calories and along with a few snacks, spaaced no more than 4 hours apart. Also, eating enough calories to let your body know that you are not starving but not eating more calories than you matabolize each day helps me reach my goals.
