![]() | I am going to start this week. I am really good in the beginning of anything I try but then I always get bored with the routine. I hope this diet is different. I am counting on writing to everyone for support.. I am hoping that is going to make me stronger. I have a 40th class reunion coming up and would really love to loose 20 lbs by Oct. I have a goal so maybe I will try harder this time. Thanks for all the people that wrote in. That has helped me get a start. I always need a little push. It is so hard when you go out to eat with friends since we are retired. Too hard to control what to eat. |
![]() | Hi: I started this diet program a couple of weeks ago. It certainly has helped me a lot. I used to eat dinner with all kind of tomato sauce and go to bed feeling an acid stomach all night long. Then I started taking anti-acid pills before going to bed. But now with this diet plan I have stopped eating foods with high tomato sauce. Resulting in no acid stomach and good sleeping. I am retired, so I can follow the diet plan according to my menu. It is a lot of fun going to the supermarket and shopping for the right healthy items. |
![]() | I was starving myself and not loosing any weight even with walking an hour a day. I was very frustrated. I joined 3 days ago. It was really scary to eat six times a day. I lost a lb when I weighed myself this morning. I am so happy. |
![]() | I want to share how much this site has helped me and I’m not sure where to do it: this looks like a good place. I got divorced and moved out 2 years ago. Prior to this I had spent all of my adult life working out 5 days a week and making healthy meals for my family (mostly vegetarian and sometimes vegan and organic). After moving out, I lost all incentive to cook for myself. I would never eat breakfast because I worked out at 6 am and did it on an empty stomach. I work at home and had no real plan for what I would eat and would end up opening a can of soup or making pasta or just eating broccoli for dinner. My eating was just so disordered and unhealthy and was totally destroying my metabolism (although I hate sweets so they have never been an issue for me). When I watched the video about the five supposedly healthy foods that are really unhealthy, I knew it was accurate and I decided that this site was right on the money and could help me. I joined 5 days ago and have already lost 3 pounds. The hardest part for me was forcing myself to eat breakfast — I have been eating 6 oz of plain greek yogurt before my workouts and then come home afterwards and have something more substantial for my second breakfast. I feel so much better and I have been digging out my old Moosewood recipes to prepare healthy food for myself. Honestly, even if I don’t lose another pound, I am so grateful that I have found a way to truly nourish my body and feel strong and healthy. The recipes in the TrimDown cookbook look fabulous and although I haven’t made any yet, I have made derivatives of them. The Journal and the Progress Meter have been tremendous motivators for me and are really helping me stay in touch with my body and my nutrition. |
![]() | This is not a sprint! It’s a long distance race. Pace yourself and have fun! |
![]() | I 2nd the motion JonnySpakins! First step we have to stop eating bad food identifed by this site. One needs to know what is BAD and what to avoid. Lost weight by that alone. Just to find out what is good and healthy was a big plus for me. |
![]() | Hello. |
![]() | Reply to Jessica. If you are 104 lbs, how much do you think you should lose? Did you check this out with a nutritionist or your doctor? Just trying to be helpful. |
![]() | Great news that the weight has started to shift and that you stuck to it through the negative times. |
![]() | First day today. Weight 243 and 5’5. Want to get healthy and burn this fat off! |
![]() | well my scale finally moved. I started thhis in January and i lost and gained and i followed the plan and still nothing. but the last two weeks i lowered the amount i was eating and am doing mor cardio based excercises at the moment and have finally lost 6 pounds. i now see that this is a long process i mean some ppl are able to lose it so easily….not me but thats ok long as it slowly disappears and my health keeps improving. im happy 🙂 |
![]() | This is my FIRST DAY and I’m really excited! I’m(approximately) 104 lbs. I don’t eat ANY beef or pork to begin with (I’m trying to eat only lean meats and seafood), so I think I’m going to go quite a way with this! Since I’ve stopped eating beef and pork, I’ve lost 3 lbs. I’m super happy to start! |
![]() | I started on this diet on Jan 1st also so far I’ve lost 29 pounds and have been sticking to the menus provided by the planner app. I’m 67 and probably don’t get as much exercise as I should. By selecting stuff I like to eat, I’ve gotten the planner to give me decent meals. I also found SWG bread in the freezer section of my local Dillon’s store. I also found raw cheese and hard goat’s milk cheese at a local organic store. I’m starting to travel for work and vacation soon so we’ll see how I do when not in my normal routine. |
![]() | Hi, I also started this at the beginning of Jan, I’ve only lost 13lbs but at least I’m never hungry, I don’t follow the meal planner as I wouldn’t be able to cope with that, I also have some cheats usually a couple of times a week, Friday nights being one of them. Regards to all. Phil. |
![]() | I haven’t lost much but I am thrilled with what little I have lost. I,also, am in my 60s. I will not accept that my weight gain is okay at my age. I don’t want to be skinny but I sure need to loose 5 stone. Yup, 5 stone!! I am cutting down on sugar, it is surprising where it is hidden in foods and what foods turn to sugar. |
