![]() | I joined a while back and lost 4 pounds fairly fast. I haven’t shared for a while and was encouraged to do so. I am now down 10 and a half pounds since I joined. Another two-pound loss will put me down to 160, a place I haven’t been in a very long time. |
![]() | Thank you. I just started yesterday and feel motivated to keep going. If I don’t do something about my weight, and with high Cholesterol, my doctor will prescribe a statin drug. |
![]() | My Husband joined trim down club to loose weight, to help him fight his disease and to eat the foods the doctor told him to eat. So he joined. I as his wife am the one that does the meals so I decided to blog. We started our eating healthy foods in January of this year. My husband has lost about 20 pounds even though he is on medicine that makes him gain weight he lost. I have lost 47 pounds eating high fiber, whole grains that are not refined and lots and lots of fruits and vegetables. I walk daily about 35 or more minutes a day. My husband also walks about 10 to 20 minutes a day. |
![]() | I just joined today. I already feel more confident just reading the posted comments. Thank you!!!! This is much better than Facebook! HA! |
![]() | I have been following the Trim Down “diet” now for a month and am happy to report a 10 lb. loss. But more than the weight loss, I am happy that the plan is working and teaching me how to eat properly. I thought I knew it all since I have been on every diet out there. But this program has me learning what is healthy. It is not a diet but a way of life now. I have never had an easier time staying on course. With other diets, I was hungry, angry and did not feel well. I feel so much better now and look forward to continued success not just in the months ahead, but for the rest of my life. I want to lose 60 lbs in a year, but more importantly, I want my blood work to reflect my new healthy lifestyle. Thank you Trim Down Club. |
![]() | These past comments are superb. And greatly successful . |
![]() | Thanks, Kat! I even bought some cream to make my own using mostly fruit and a little xylitol (can’t tolerate stevia or other substitutes) but just never got it made and had coffee instead 🙁 So now here’s the plan, I’ll use the plain yoghurt I buy (not ready to make it again, as I seem to be fully occupied making the other recipes) and I’ll add fruit and a little xylitol, and that will be my treat. Even after being on this regimen since Jan 1 I still am not very organized! I cook whole recipes and have lots of portions in the freezer, but amongst all my other interests and volunteer work my life is pretty chaotic. But, I am healthier and stronger and that’s the important thing 🙂 |
![]() | Hey Lynn. NP 🙂 I reread mine and see I had a similar quick trigger finger lol! Regarding Ice Cream, I have a similar problem. Try this thought – I make my own yogurt now. I mention the yogurt since the yogurt gets slapped into the IC maker or I make ice cream in it. The homemade ice cream or frozen yogurt is better for you, I think. My rule is that I have to make it, not just go diving into a store bought box. The theory is I can control the contents better – organics and cutting sugar content – while the additional work would cut down on my consumption. So far, so good 😀 Good luck on the last 5 and congratulations in advance 😀 wtg!!! |
![]() | Sorry, Kat, I mean…too hasty with the button! |
![]() | Wonderful news, Kay, congratulations to you both!! I am similarly happy with my results, just having a bit of trouble getting through the last 5 lbs, but I’ll get there. May have something to do with my addiction to ice cream in the summer 🙂 |
![]() | Hello everyone! I joined in early Feb (and my husband did too since I do the cooking lol!). By April, I passed my goal weight of 135 lbs by reaching 135 lbs and started the maintenance portion of the diet. I’m 5’7″. My husband, who had farther to go than I did, lost 45 lbs during the same amount of time. We were never hungry on the calorie loss diet and never felt deprived. In fact, we actually felt FULL for a change! I think our taste buds also came alive eating all the wonderful food in the various recipes. Sprouted grains? Who knew lol! Spelt? WOW! Quinoa? Now a much-loved staple as are lentils, barley and REAL oats. Anyway, we started the maintenance portion of the diet, and I’ll admit, even after the initial success, I had my doubts. I’ve never had much trouble losing weight (when I make up my mind to finally DO it :-P). Keeping it off has always been the problem. I just checked in for the first time since April – 130 lbs :D. No problem keeping it off with the maintenance portion of the diet. TDC inspired me to hunt for healthy options and exploration. I now actually make my own yogurt, sour cream and buttermilk. That in turn inspired me to get some kefir grains and start playing around with milk and water kefir – outstanding. Which lead to kombucha. My first batch is almost ready and I can’t weight (pun intended lol!) Thank you so much, Trim Down Club. I finally after all these years know how to eat properly. I and my husband feel great, look great and are really grateful for the folks at TDC as well as all the people on forums talking about their journeys to improved health. Bon healthy and delicious Appetite! |
![]() | Hi, cgittins. This diet can be done with less expensive options – it doesn’t have to be perfect, just better than what you did before. The cost can sometimes be balanced out by buying in bulk from cooperative shops instead of packaged, and substituting meat with pulses once in a while – which adds a lot too the benefit, too. If it is too expensive, it won’t be sustainable, and we all know how that ends up. |
![]() | hello im in the uk ,I started half heartedly sat but im going to be more focused from today [mon],I found spelt bread in our local tescos but it is very expensive, actually having done my shopping list the weekend the whole diet is expensive so I hope it works, im 56 and finding losing weight harder and harder. |
![]() | Hi, operagirl. Each bread is different and often has different grains, which influence its taste. Does your bread have flaxseed in it? These can sometimes impart a fishy taste. |
![]() | I bought the SWG bread and do not like it’s taste. It smells fishy. I’m thinking that perhaps toasting it would be an improvement. Does anyone share this? |
