![]() | Hi, d.hazelgrove. Absolutely! Salad is always welcome. |
![]() | Hi, to make life a little easier with lunch at work, can i swap bread or crispbread and spread for a salad ? |
![]() | Hi, wserrano. To deal with cravings, try swapping out reaching for tempting foods with a non-food hobby that you like as much or nearly as much, or with sipping on a hot beverage sweetened with a good-quality no-carbohydrate sweetener like Stevia+erythritol. Keeping tempting sweets out of house and your work area can also be a big help. You may opt to budget sweets into your day, by selecting those items in the Menu Planner food lists so that they appear in your menu. |
![]() | Thank you Ossie-Sharon. Now I have another question if you don’t mind, How or what can I do to deal with the cravings? I went down to 5 meals and county my carbs and making sure I do go over 60 carbs a day and it works but I get a lot of cravings for sweets specially at the end of the day so what can or I should do? |
![]() | Hi, wserrano. You can learn about food groups (and portion sizes) through this link here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists/. The first page is the “Carbohydrate” group, which contains the starchy carbohydrates. You can click on the colored category bars to switch groups. |
![]() | Thanks Ossie-Sharon. Can you please give me an example of which foods are high on starchy carbs? I’m new to all of this and never before had to cut back or pay attention to carbs or nothing like that, it was I like it I eat it, but never in big quantities always portion control so I need help with knowing what has what, what is good or bad and things like that, I would appreciate if you can help me with this, thanks. |
![]() | Hi, wserrano. Yes, you can go from 5 to 6. However, we recommend that you cut back on the starchy carbohydrates, and focus on getting all of your protein and produce. |
![]() | I tried that today, leavin 2 to 3 hours between meals but it’s just to much food, my stomach is not used to so much food and at the end of the day I feel like my stomach is gonna explode, and yes I do portion control. What can I do, can I go from 6 to 5 meals instead? |
![]() | Hi, wserrano. Most people do well with about 2.5-3 hours between meals/snacks. |
![]() | Hi, I just started the diet today and I was wondering if anyone can tell me how many hours should I leave in between meals 6 meals a day is a lot to me, I only eat 2 or 3 time a day. This is a lot of food for me really but I also know it has a lot to do with portions so I just need a little help with figuring out the hours I should let pass in between meals. Ideas anyone?? |
![]() | Hi, mkbjorke. With regard to your wife, she needs about 80% of your portions (a little over 3/4). |
![]() | Hi, mkbjorke. If you know the amount of major nutrients, especially per serving, you can calculate the exchanges in each and fit them into your menu pattern. You can see your menu pattern by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your menu. Exchanges are equal to the following approximate amounts of nutrients and Weight Watchers (WW) points: |
![]() | We have recipes that we like (many from Weigh Watchers). How do we determine how these fit in the trim down diet? |
![]() | 62 years, 140 lbs, 5′ 3.25″, light activity |
![]() | Hi, mkbjorke. It’s great to read that you will be doing this together! I just need your wife’s age, height, weight, and general physical activity level, and I will get back to you here with the proportion of your menu that could suit her. |
