| | Hi Silly, The serving sizes of the recipes are on the online recipes you get to from the link in the line at the top of this page. Unfortunately they didn’t print them in our downloads. The calories don’t matter in this way of eating, trust them, the menu generated for you is balanced and gives you the right combination of nutrients so you can lose weight safely and slowly. I have lost 12 lb since Jan 1 and that makes me very happy. You do have to increase your activity level as well, but I will let Ossie give you more information, she is the person who checks these threads. |
| | I am new and cant seem to find anything about the calories and breakdown and serving size of any of the recipes. Neither does it tell me what my calories per day are. It doesn’t matter to me if it is healthy if I am eating too much of the wrong thing. Who knows these answers? |
| | I made the classic tuna salad and liked it. I was wondering if it could be frozen in serving sizes? |
| | Evening to you all….it seems like ages since I have been up on deck for a natter…amazing how much life is on hold when the internet is down!!! It is a shame our lives are so immersed in cyberspace….I enjoy it, but it sure makes life come to a halt when it is not working!!! Hopefully they have sorted the problems out for us. I am still struggling with the tiredness, but will continue to battle whatever I have to get back to some kind of normality!!! I haven’t stuck to the plan here, as I just haven’t got the energy to cope with thinking about it all! I am having a sleep-in again tomorrow…Yay…thanks to my husband. KATIE…lentils are not something I have been fond of over the years, but since joining Trim Down, I have been having them most lunch times. I have my cup of rinsed unsalted brown lentils (from a can) with a cup of mixed rocket and baby spinach leaves (chopped a bit), a cup of chopped tomatoes/red capsicum/cucumber, my serve of either canned tuna or salmon, or chopped cold chicken. I toss all that together with a drizzle of three flavoured olive oils…chilli, garlic, and lemon….and sometimes I put some plain yogurt from my allowance in it. I also add seasonings like a flavoured vegetable salt, and meditteranean spices. I find it all a bit too filling, so I halve it and use it for another meal, either that day or next day. I like it…and it is nice an easy…Haha…I am not the domestic goddess you are love…I hate cooking, preparing food, and cleaning up!!! Lol. I really need to try some recipes though….if I could hire a cook I would!!! PPEDDLE…All the best when those lay-offs come! I will be praying for you too. I too am amazed that men can lose weight so easily…my husband is slowly losing weight…doesn’t have to try to hard!!! Just sets his mind to it, does a little exercise and off it comes. He has lost it very quickly many times, but it just goes back on…so this time he has been watching his intake (very casually) for about 8 months. It just makes me sick!!! Lol…. Well, welcome to all the newbies….hope it all goes well for you. Love reading through the comments….hopefully I can get more motivated this week! |
| | JACKIEE: THANKS — YES, 21 🙂 We went to lunch on Thursday, my birthday and also on Friday. On Friday I had Key Lime cheesecake for dessert and not dessert on my birthday. I am trying to be good. Got a basket of yellow daisies and deep burgundy baby roses for my birthday. I told Bob not to get me anything because we are getting new flooring for 6 rooms so I am VERY HAPPY with that 🙂 I did have a SWG English muffin yesterday morning and today for lunch with a microwave scrambled egg on them. YUM! |
| | They sure hide it well, but finally found the “Ezechel” SWG bread in the freezer section at Safeway…………right next to the frozen pizzas. Boy was that a hard choice to make. I’d like to address something else if I may. Did you all get an email this morning about a “Miracle Pill” pushed by a Dr. Siskind who gave a fantastic dissertation on the cause of accumulated fat around the middle and how this pill could assist in getting rid of it. I have issues with the email, the “medication” and TDC’s involvement. If anyone is interested in having a discussion about this. Follow up with me. |
| | Hi, Sandrae. Yes, that is basically your pattern, though you an have a third protein at dinner, if you wish. |
| | Hi, magg. SWG bread is available at health-oriented stores, including large chains such as Whole Foods Market and Trader Joes, as well as online, i.e. at http://www.foodforlife.com. |
| | Hi, Sunshine. Raw butter is butter made from milk that has not been pasteurized or homogenized. Whipped butter is also an excellent choice, as it is partly air, with less fat per teaspoon. |
| | ppeddle…it is a known fact, that most men lose weight much faster than women. My son has just lost over 100 pounds and is running the 5K St. Paddy’s Day Race in Chicago this morning. I am so proud of him. I was concerned about his weight, now I just hope as he starts to eat more food, he will continue to control his weight. He looks fantastic! So be happy for your brother, and just keep working on this program. I lose very slowly, but all the health benefits during the wait for the weight to come off are a real bonus! Good Luck! magg…I buy my bread at Natural Grocers, however, our regular markets carry it too. It is always in the freezer section, and this is where you will have to keep it when you buy it because of no preservatives, etc. Ezekiel bread is one of the most common brands. I have not been able to find SWG flour either, but I love the oat flour, and I also use brown rice flour. You can find those at the Natural Grocers or Real Foods stores too. Some of the grain flours are in the regular stores too. I keep my oat flour in the freezer because that is where I found it in the store. But the other flour, I just keep on the shelf. I guess that’s ok, that’s where it was in the store! lol I really like the SWG bread. It isn’t like a warm yummy comfort roll or fresh baked bread, but it is nutty tasting and when toasted, is wonderful. My favorite is to spread it with goat cheese. You should try it! Good Luck! sunshine…I’ll have to try the brown banana. I love the recipes on this program. Lentils has been my only challenge, but even those I can eat once in awhile. Stick to the program, we’re all in this together! sandrae…I use that menu occasionally as well. It sometimes is easier than preparing so many recipes. But I like to cook, and I have loved everything I’ve tried (except the lentils, lol). I’m really busy with school and church responsibilities, so making the recipes is sometimes too time consuming, but if I make a few recipes ahead of time, they last me all week. Have fun experimenting. Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick’s Day tomorrow and a great weekend! Take care! |
| | Hi everyone, JACKIEE: Thanks for asking. No word on the job situation yet, except that the next round of layoffs will happen in about 2-3 weeks. Then around 350 people will be let go. 🙁 The waiting and not knowing is really tough. I did try the SWG English Muffins though…figured if I’m going to be stress eating might as well do it with healthy stuff. And holy cow are they ever good!!! I had to have the second one the first night I tried it. I just keep it simple…toasted with a bit of butter. I’m seeing a lot of people using goat cheese throughout the posts…I’ve never tried it before, so I think I’ll get some tomorrow when I go shopping. I can say I’ve actually been 100% on the plan this week. Snacks are the tough one for me…I stick with fruits/veggies and bits of cheese throughout the day and my newly beloved swg muffins at night. Water is still my biggest challenge…I do use a drop of MIO when I’m stuck but mostly just add a bit of non-concentrated fruit juice to flavour the water. My brother bragged yesterday about how he lost some more weight…he’s now 20lbs less than me! And he’s only doing a short walk every day and he doesn’t exactly diet. While I’m very happy for him, I’m also quite jealous, and almost want to smack him for losing it so easily!! LOL. Anyways, that’s another motivation for me to lose the weight…sibling rivalry…can’t have him have the only bragging rights! Time to get back at my Income Tax. Having Irish Stew this weekend in honour of St. Patrick’s Day. Have a great weekend all! |
| | where can one buy swg bread and or the flour, I am good at making bread. |
| | Hi everyone, Life is good as for Lentils I have had them in both the soup and the salad. I really like them followed recipe and have no problems but the only one I could fine were the green ones? I hope this is ok on my 4th week loving eating only what is good for me. We are losing our snow so will miss skiing which I enjoyed daily after work. Oh that is ok walking will be starting soon. good news down 5 lbs!! I don’t miss the sweets folks with fruits and good recipes. I make my week’s worth come sat or sunday for my week ahead and so glad I joined trimdown. It taught me the good foods to eat and the bad foods which I really never knew about. I don’t miss the sugar and I don’t miss the white flour I make the cookie recipes they are great and the brown bananna is a great treat. Just had to share with everyone. Also ossie I have asked but still have not heard back please what do you mean my raw butter? I hope everyone has a great week Spring is on its way, and gardening soon I love it. |
| | hi ossie can you help me with this if I eat |
| | thanks for the suggestions on the lentils. I’ll keep experimenting with them. Ossie, I think the onions and low sodium broth would make a difference. I’ll try it! Thanks |
