| | Any way to change the Group’s name? I hate to date myself…..LOL |
| | Glad to see people are still around. I think this is the first post to the community I’ve seen in a few months. Thought I’d say “Hi”, Ossie. I’m still fighting the “floaty” around my middle. Weight stays the same but that invitation to Liposuction is still there. I guess at 74 I can’t be the Adonis I used to be….LOL. |
| | Hi, cntrybmpkn1, and welcome. I highly recommend you use the full Personal Menu Planner application, so that you can choose the foods that go into your menu, and avoid the foods that don’t work for you. When you enter the “Apps” area (link near the top of each site page), it is the option all the way to the right. Additionally, you can manually build your menus by just using any menu (including something basic like the “Popular Foods” menu that you already have), then clicking on the circular arrow icon at the top right of each meal. You will be brought to a subapplication in which you can choose each food and where it goes, and ignore carbohydrates altogether by just putting protein exchanges in their place. If you would like additional help, please do repost here. |
| | New to site. Frustrated because the menu planner food selection is trying to make me add bread products (I don’t want to add any bread back into my diet, not even paleo), grains (which I need to eliminate due to health reasons), Because I’m low on my carb and protein selections it won’t push me through. I use protein powder, not on here. There are some selections for lunch and dinner that I would eat for breakfast. Also, there are some good recipes that I would like to add into the menu but there isn’t a way to. Not sure this was worth my money. |
| | Hi SJStites, |
| | How in the heck do I get to the lists of things like vegetables, acceptable condiments, etc. I’m rather frustrated with the difficulty of finding things on this website! |
| | No. I don’t print out the menus but try to use “approved” foods and basically follow the guidelines for a healthy eating program. |
| | Jackiee & Apensa: Are you not printing out the Trim Down Club meal plans? I print out mine by the week.I shared before that if a certain meal calls for an item and I don’t have it on hand, I’ll substitute, but, I stay with the proper guidelines. I NEED my daily meals written out for me, or I will eat more than I should or the wrong thing. We don’t keep any processed sugar or flour foods in the house. We eat very little salt, red meat. We cut down on a meat intake quite a few years ago. We both love fish and eat a lot of it, plus veggies and fruits. My husband had to cut down on fruit intake because it was messing with his potassium levels. Our oldest son has the same problem. What works for one does not necessarily work for another; we all have different chemistry’s. Such is life. |
| | JACKIEE!!!!!! So great to see you again. Sorry you ran into some rough roads, but that’s what they make shock absorbers for. I’m at the status quo; still not eating right….not a lot, just not right. Still doing the little things that I shouldn’t do and a lot of the things I should do. Just like my daughter, you live in the wrong place to be on a good food plan…..I just love that pasta….LOL. Avagantor, you keep up the great work. Glad you found that gym for women only. I think that is a good environment to be surrounded by……………but they won’t let me in….LOL. |
| | jackiee: You know what they say about falling off a horse or bicycle, you need to get right back on and try again. Good for you for recognizing that this is the RIGHT program for you. Like you, I’ve tried EVERYTHING!You name it, I’ve tried it. Yes, I got results. One time I lost 43 pounds. But like most everyone else, my body could not take such a rigid food plan;life happened, depression, suppression, isolation and bam, I’m back to my old weight plus. Over the many years it has been like a revolving door – around and around and around. Mood swings up down and all over the place. My life, my mind, body and soul were way out of balance. Today I’m blessed. I found the Trim Down Club, I have found a gym for women only,a wonderful Al-Anon sponsor whom I meet with once a week and a super spiritual director. At last, after all these years, my life is finally in BALANCE. Boy! Does that feel good! |
| | Does anyone have a “recipe” for the ever popular quick biscuit mix?? I may have quite a few recipes that I could repurpose…if I could get the right mix of a swg flour base..and the right amount of baking powder and soda. ANYONE??? |
| | Yes the first 4 weeks have been learning the site, learning new recipes, and I didnt go all BONZAI as I used to. Instead…I am buying healthier versions of the food as I run out. Such as mayo is now olive oil base or vegan. The english muffins are now swg. Eggs are now high in omega 3. I did not throw out my old food…simply using the plan to replace what I have used up. I dont feel hungry anymore!! THAT is enough to keep anyone on this plan!! I have found my temper has gotten much better. I was HUNGRY!! Not mad at the world! I have only lost a few lbs over the last 4 weeks..but I feel MUCH better..and I didnt GAIN ANY!! WOO HOO!! Not hungry and didnt gain any weight! Now Thats real progress. I can live with loosing a pound a week for the next 50 weeks! And the hubby came home from the dr today….he lost 4 lbs…LOL!!!! |
| | Just popped in to say Hi, glad your still routing everyone on Apensa and want to wish everyone else all the best on your programming, hope it works out. I’m back on the program after a few failed attempts, all my own doing giving in to old eating habits. A few month ago tried a fad diet with no carbs, great results in the first few weeks and nothing more for 4 weeks, which lead to me returning to bad eating habits and gaining more weight than before. Then a wise woman said, (my mum) ‘what happened to that plan that worked a few years back’,,..so here I am again, lol and wow I forgot how much you get to eat on the plan ? so here’s hoping this time round I learn from old mistakes, good luck everyone |
| | I hope and pray the best comes to both of you. |
| | apensa: Thanks for the words of encouragement! More power to you too. I don’t drink alcohol, as a rule. I may imbibe on one of our cruises, but haven’t since I began this program. I’m feeling much better today and have followed my menu plan 100% so far. I’m a great cook and that helps! 🙂 My daughter-in-law has just been through rugged treatments of Chemo and radiation for brain tumor. She is only 52. Her last MRIs proved it is DEAD, thanks be to God. It is our prayer that it stays dead and does not rear its ugly head every again. She is, however, suffering from after effects of the treatments. She is a wonderful person. With all she has been through she does not think about herself but everyone else. Last November the family had a benefit for her. Over 300 people showed up. That speaks for what kind of wonderful person she is.And she is, as I mentioned before, 100% behind my efforts to get back to healthy. I just wish we were closer geographically. Such is life. |
