| | JACKIE!!!!! So good to see you here again. Missed you and some of the other “old” regulars. I have the same lament. I too seem to get nowhere when it comes to this darn spare tire I carry around my waist. True I am not exercising to the point where I am sweating out my mother’s milk, but I am anything but sedentary, eat sensibly…maybe celebrate when there is a special day (I even cut out the daily Martinis), eat SWG if I have bread, a salad for lunch and a light evening meal, don’t snack, no diet sodas, etc etc. I’m 5′ 7″, 74 years old and weigh 150 to 155lbs. …..anyway, I hear you. Having said that, I hope all is well with the family. |
| | Hi, Sharon, apenso and all, I wiggle back out the woodwork, to try yet again to get my eating plan back to total healthy eating. I don’t eat proceed food at all and we’ve even started with chickens and pigeons on the land so our poutry is organic too. I’m still struggling with bloating though and recently have been kkeping a food diary. With an under active thyroid and IBS, could you give me a wee reminder what begs, fruit I could avoid to lessen bloating, I can handle some gas but when it some days I’m not sure if it just veg or a combination of dairy that makes life, uncomfortable. Any tip would be greatful. Well best get on and learn or the new stuff this site. Still love everything I read. PS hope your and family ate all well apensa and Sharon, take care xxx |
| | Hi, Chellepike, and welcome. We actually don’t favor diet sodas because artificial sweeteners can work against your efforts here. However, quitting cold turkey isn’t necessarily the answer either. I would suggest considering cutting back gradually to 1 can a day, then maybe not every day OR perhaps make your own – mix plain carbonated soda water with cola flavoring (extracts are available in bake shops or online) and a good natural sweetener like Stevia (e.g. Truvia) or monk fruit. |
| | Hi just joined – can you tell me if its ok to drink diet sodas ( I have 2 cans of Diet Pepsi a day) |
| | Hi, Vickylana. The lists of foods in your menu are intentionally generic to give you the freedom to use them as you wish. In the example you posted, you can put the tuna directly on the Ryvita, or mix it with a free additive like horseradish to make a spread for the crackers. |
| | Hi vickylana, We hope this information helps. If you have any questions donβt hesitate to contact us. All the best π |
| | Help, I’ve just bought this trim down club and don’t understand it! Half a cup of this 2 ryvitas and 2 ounces of tuna?? These aren’t proper meals and a way of eating I t s all bits and pieces? |
| | Hi itsgone, |
| | Can you tell me how many carbs, proteins, dairy, etc. I am to eat everyday….easy to substitute that way…thanks you. |
| | Hi, KBustin, and welcome! I’m glad to read you’re liking it here. First, you can definitely swap any meal between days. Second, the food combinations are pretty basic – try to accompany carbs with proteins to slow down their impact on blood sugar and insulin. Other combinations have to do with seasonings, and are reflected in many of our recipes. The most basic include garlic and/or turmeric and olive oil, lemon juice and/or tomato and olive oil, probiotics and blueberries, chocolate and berries, and cruciferous vegetables and mustard, as well as chili pepper or cinnamon anywhere you want. |
| | Hi Ossie- I am new this week and love the menu planner and grocery list! I am curious though- in the promo video the dr mentions that she designed her eating plan by mimiking a coworker who ate certain combinations of food- I have yet to find that referenced anywhere on the site- is there some info on this somewhere? Also can I swap out lunch from one day for another? |
| | Hi, Margot, and welcome. If you have been on restrictive diets in the past, it may indeed seem like a lot of food. A smoothie once in a while is absolutely fine, of course. As for the cereals, if you use the personal version of the Menu Planner application, you will find them in the “Carbohydrate” food list as options for breakfast. If you want to stick with the menu you have, you can click on the starchy breakfast foods currently present (for example, the 1/2 English muffin), and you will see hot cereal as a swap option. |
| | Hi, Marcymj. If you go to your finished menu and scroll down, you will see the answers to your questions. If you have additional ones, please do repost. |
| | I am just getting started and have some questions. 1. Is it important to eat everything on the menu. It seems like a lot. Can I substitute a protein shake for breakfast or lunch 3-4 times a week. We normally eat a lot of hot cereal. (Cream of Wheat and Oatmeal) Neither of these showed up in my menu’s. Thanks |
