Hi, blondemgzs. If you’ve been on restrictive diets in the past, this can indeed seem like a lot of food. The intention is to prevent hunger and upgrade your metabolism, while supporting at least a mild level of physical activity (which is important for health regardless of weight goals). However, it’s great that you are in tune with your satiety cues, and we wouldn’t want you to fight that or be uncomfortable. We would encourage you to focus on the protein and produce (at least 5 total fruit/vegetable servings per day) and calcium sources (at least 3 total food/beverage servings per day).
Regarding recipes, many are in the personal Menu Planner food lists. For the newer ones that have not yet been added, you can just swap them in for whatever similar food is on your menu (for example, if you like a vegetable dish, just make that your Vegetable of Choice; a meat/tofu dish, just make that fill the corresponding slot in your menu – that’s why we keep the foods in the finished menus generic most of the time).
As for sprouted, you can read about it here – https://www.trimdownclub.com/what-is-swg-bread.

Hi jude0504,
Thanks for posting.
Here is a great group that most likely has others that have similar dietary needs – https://www.trimdownclub.com/groups/talking-cooking-nanas/
Hope this helps!

Hi, How do I find out if there is a vegan group or meet other members who are vegan?

Hi, Gingerware. The intention is for you to eat everything on the menu, but if you can’t, then don’t fight it. Focus on the protein and produce, then the rest – just try not to eat too little!

And the snack for tomorrow morning is 1 egg, regular; 1 oz cream cheese; 1/2 muffin, English, 100%whole grain; and 1 medium orange…wow that sounds like a meal rather than a snack. 🙂

I am new and have a question but didn’t know which group or place to go to ask it.

I signed up on 4-3-16 and went through the steps to choose food favorites and then created a menu for the week. I also understand how to click on a food and see what it can be exchanged for. My question is in some menus the amount of food (esp in some of the snacks) seems like a LOT to eat at one time. Are you supposed to eat everything the created menu shows or can you just eat some of it. For instance on my menu for lunch tomorrow it shows: 3 1/2 oz chicken, white meat; 3/4 c green peas; 1 Tblsp Honey Mustard Dressing; 1/3 cup brown rice; and 2 servings of Vegetables your choice. Is it okay to just eat the chicken and a salad (the exchange for the 2 vegetables) or I am supposed to have it all?

Just wondering

Hi, Sorlr493, and welcome. The intention is for you to eat all the food on the menu, but if it’s too much, don’t fight it – it’s good that you’re in tune with your satiety cues. Just make sure that you get in at least 5 total fruit/vegetable and 3 calcium-rich food/beverage servings each day.
In terms of preparation, note that you can use the personal version of the Menu Planner application to select the foods that work for you, instead of getting stuck with more complicated fare.

Hi, Nicky, and welcome! Smoothies aren’t generally “free,” but how they fit into the plan depends on their ingredients and respective quantities. Most that are made from several food groups can take the place of a snack, and others that are largely fruits or vegetables can take the place of those respective food courses.

I’m not sure how I’m going to eat everything and some Items I’m not sure what they are. Also I want my husband to go this with me but how do I know what his portion is

HELP! Today is my 1st day. I don’t see how it is possible to prepare and eat this much food. I love the idea of eating healthier, but I have a lap band and never eat this much or this often. I just finished lunch and feel horrible and stuffed. Is it necessary to eat all that is on the menu?

Hi Everyone, I have been in this program a short time. Just a couple of days. I’m easing into the menu. Need to shop. I had salmon with couscous and bok choy stir fried in olive oil, garlic, salt and pepper. I’m proud of eating better.
