Hi, kulwinder. It is natural for there to be differences in weight status and loss – some of it depends on fluid shifts, too. If you find that your weight stagnates, the best way to deal with that is through exercise, including making changes to what you’re currently doing, to wake up new muscles.
As for the foods, white potatoes are actually fine, but white pasta is likely there if you are using the “popular foods” menus (white pasta is an option for people who are new and just getting used to the idea of whole grain pasta). If you switch over to the personal version of the Menu Planner, you can select the foods to go into your menus, and avoid the ones you don’t.

Hi, Mario. Yes – “100%” is a legal term, and when it is applied to any whole grain, it must mean exactly that.

Hi, Michelle. As long as it’s 100% whole grain, rye is excellent!

hello,
what means “100% whole wheat DURUM SEMOLINA” ? On the package I also read : “a delicious whole wheat pasta made with all the goodness of the whole grain ; a natural source of fibre and full of flavour”
Is this to be considered as a 100% whole grain product ? I’m confused, please explain.
Thx & regards.

I’ve been with the Trim down club for over a year now and when I first started I was getting some wonderful results in my weight lose, over 20lb so far.
It’s a bit stagnant at the moment due to my health issues….I’m Vitamin D deficient and have low blood pressure, which is causing dizziness and poor concentration.
Its very difficult to exercise at the moment so I was wondering if anyone has advice about keeping weight off whilst ill?.

Hi, Marilyn. The video discussed artificial or overprocessed versions of popular foods that should be healthy, but have been manipulated into being particularly harmful to your goals. Rather than giving up on them altogether, we encourage better versions in their original, natural forms. Regular “whole wheat” bread – this often also contains refined flours, so it is preferred to select “100% whole” grain products (wheat or other); however, even with these products, be sure to read the label and avoid hydrogenated fats or similar ingredients such as mono- and diglycerides. Similarly with corn, while processed corn products and foods with corn-based sweeteners are not recommended, fresh corn (especially non-GMO corn) and products made with simple whole corn meal are fine.
Note that the foods discussed in the video are only examples, and many other popular foods have been similarly affected—so it’s good to read labels, be aware of how a food is made, and choose whole foods as much as possible.

Hi, Marcy. Can you post here what you would normally eat in a day?

Ossie-Sharon 9 years ago

Hi, jwaples. You can see that information in the FAQ area on your menu page (just scroll down past your finished menu).

Ossie-Sharon 9 years ago

Hi, cem. The intention is for you to eat all of them.
