Ossie-Sharon, As you know, I have been with TDC a long time. I’d hate to think of what I would look like if I weren’t. Does there come a time in our lives that regardless of what, how much and when you eat all the “fat buddies” from your past decide to come home and dwell like the proverbial professional student offspring in the basement of our bodies? I’m 74 now; not sedentary and with enough knee, shoulder and back issues that keep me from going to the local “meat market” gym. I do however do some stretching and treadmill work……unfortunately not on a regular basis. I still do my weekly gardening work, venture out on our boat and actively pursue my woodworking hobby. Is it time for me to just forget it? Enjoy my occasional Newcastle and Grey Goose, just admit that I need to go from
34’s to 36’s and get rid of any full length mirrors in the house. I LOOK LIKE…….well, you know. Is belly and waistline fat inevitable? Is Sonobello the only answer?

Hi, Being new tho this, I have a question regarding the vegetable intake. When a menu is compiled it says 2 vegetables of your choice. Now, does this mean 2 types of vegetables from the list across the entire meaning, so I would have 1 cup of tomatoes with unlimited cucumber or does it mean only 2 of limited choices with any of the unlimited choices. This is causing an issues in my household…i say its 2 from the entire list not a mix of a few like my husband says! please help and advise on this issue!!

Kind Regards

Sharon

Hi, Margaret. Of COURSE there is Ovaltine in the US! It’s something of a global legend. It has sugar, but there are worse options. I say go for it.

Hi Ossie-Sharon I’m new to this and on my menu for next week I have milk choc flavoured. Can I make my own with Ovaltine(don’t know whether you have that in the states). Am thinking of the sugar content

Hi, TamiJayne, and welcome. Note that you don’t have to struggle to find foods – if you’re using the personal version of the Menu Planner application, you can select the foods that work for you. As for the rest, they are available online if you wish – try Thrive Market (http://thrv.me/TrimDownClubV6).
As for “Fast Food Vegetable Salad,” it just refers to the vegetable-only salad that is available at fast food restaurants (e.g., http://www.bk.com/menu-item/garden-side-salad).

Well, today is my first day. From the midwest and a small town, so it is, believe it or not, hard for me to find alot of foods…smoked salmon, rice crackers etc, but I am ready to do this. Silly question, but what is 1 serving of Fast Food, Vegetable salad mean? Is it telling me to eat fast food and a salad? Help!

Hi, GeekGirl. You can have it however you wish. We do have a simple recipe for porridge (https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/basic-hot-cereal-porridge/) that you would make with water, to which you can just add the coconut milk, and have the nuts and fruit on the side (or add them in, if you wish). In looking at your measurements and menu pattern, this actually suits your current needs – the amounts will go down as our weight does, don’t worry.
By the way, you may find the process easier if you switch to the personal version of the Menu Planner (the right-most option in the apps area https://www.trimdownclub.com/menu-planner), so that you can select the specific foods that work for you. Note that with any menu, you can click on any food you want to switch, and a list will pop up from which you can choose a replacement.

ok I’m going to need extra help with this so I don’t totally mess myself up. I’ll give a proper example since the last one I just made up out of my head.

Breakfast
=========
1 cup of Cereal Hot, Porridge, Wheat (Cooked)
1/3 cup of Milk, Coconut, Raw/Canned, Regular
1/2 ounce of Cashews
4 small Apricots
Fish Oil

So what does this mean, I have to find recipes for every single one of those foods like a bowl of porridge and a bowl of granola which contains cashews and apricots? Seems like a lot of food if it is!

Oh right, thank you! Wow that would be a tonne of food. :O. I might be morbidly obese but even I can only stomach half that.

Hi, geekgirl. Those foods are kept generic to give you more flexibility. You can insert any one of those main ingredients into the search box in our recipe collection to get ideas for preparation. Using the example you provided, your meal may include Baked Parmesan Garlic Chicken (https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/baked-parmesan-garlic-chicken/) and Crunchy Pea Salad (https://www.trimdownclub.com/recipe/crunchy-pea-salad/).

I’ve just subscribed to the site but when I add my favourite foods the meal planner only gives me those foods and a measurement like 1 cup peas, 100g chicken, 1tsp olive oil etc. I was hoping results would return recipes like casseroles and salads rather than just the raw ingredients? Am I doing something wrong?

Hi, Carla. Enter the “Apps” area (link near the top left of any site page), and select “My Menus” (the right-most option in the Apps area). Your menus will be listed in order of date, with the most recent at the top.

I am having trouble navigating the site. Often I am in a different screen and my weekly plan is in a different format. Find it difficult to find menus I’ve already created. Where do I go to access my previous menus?
