| | Hi, FunChick, and congratulations! The key to tightening and toning is targeted and general exercise. Are you currently physically active? If you would like specific guidance here, please do write back. |
| | Hello This is my first time posting in the forum. I’ve been following the menus (not exactly) but eating 5 times a day instead of 3/4 for about 2 months. I have reached my target weight of 54kg (down from 57kg). I can still pinch a good inch of fat on my belly. Any tips on shifting the belly fat would be much appreciated. Also, I’ve been telling friends about following this programme. Are there any special bonuses for us to share with friends? Thanks! |
| | Thanks very much, Ossie. I’m prepared to give it a good test, so I’ll try to be patient! |
| | Thanks for that, WillowJaz. Pay attention also to how you’re looking and feeling vs. just the number on the scale. It is great that you are mixing up intensities. Try also to add new muscles once in a while. Keep me posted if it turns out to be a long plateau. |
| | I was wondering about the activity level the past week. I’ve had two really aggressive hikes in that time, whereas before I had only been doing fairly regular 6km walks. These past two times it’s been mostly steep hills and no breaks. I though perhaps it was water/muscle retention, but not sure. I have been following the menu plan very closely, only exchanging some of the foods with foods of the same value listed on the exchanges. Logically, I know that it’s not possible to only see the scale go down, but it still is a bit disconcerting. Previously, I was eating a late breakfast and nothing until dinner. Now I realize I wasn’t eating enough protein, too many fruits and even veggies. I never was a junk food eater. |
| | Hi, WillowJaz. It shouldn’t really make a difference. What has your physical activity been like for the past few weeks? And compared to before you started with us? |
| | I just joined TDC couple of weeks ago and saw a really encouraging loss the first week. Now I’ve hit the point where I’m starting to gain back. I have been absolutely religious about following the plan ‘to a T’ – I wanted to give it a good chance to see if it would work. I have a couple of questions. If you use the exchange for a meal and you use one of the exchanges, does it change the overall plan for the day? I have used the recommended exchanges for that meal, but now I’m wondering if somehow it throws the entire day’s menu out of whack. Any suggestions? It’s been disappointing to see the scale go up for two days in a row instead of down!! |
| | Thank you for your help, I really appreciate it. |
| | Hi, myparentswerewonderful. Breads are just like any starchy carbohydrate, and if you make a high-quality selection, they can be part of a well-balanced menu. If carbohydrate amounts are your concern, note our program is overall low in carbohydrates. If you’re not sensitive to grains, then no worries there. Bananas are a very starchy fruit, and so count as 1 fruit + 1 carb exchange, meaning you can have a banana instead of 2 slices of bread – that will take care of both of your concerns. |

| | Myparents……I’m sure Ossie will respond to your question shortly. I did not want you to think that no one was listening. Bread…..the right bread, is part of a balanced menu. I can almost assure you that Ossie will give you a better response and be able to respond regarding the banana situation. Just hang in there a while. |
| | I have been asking questions and I’m not getting any answers. Am I doing something wrong? |
| | Can anybody answer my questions? I noticed in my menu’s there is a lot of bread, am I suppose to eat a lot of bread? How do I get a banana in my menu everyday? |
| | I’m new, joined two days ago and I noticed there is a lot of bread products in my menu’s. Should I be eating so much bread? Also, there are no bananas in my menu and I have to eat a banana every day. The bread products, can they be bought at a regular grocery store on the shelf? Thank you but I am confused when it comes to these things. I plan on starting this coming Monday. I didn’t get an answer. |
