Hi, Linda130. We don’t work with calories in this program, but I can tell you the general value of the exchanges in terms of major nutrients:
1 carbohydrate exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 3 grams of protein
1 protein exchange = 7 grams of protein + up to 5 grams of fat
1 fat exchange = 5 grams of fat
1 fruit exchange = 15 grams of carbohydrates
1 vegetable exchange = 5 grams of carbohydrates + up to 2 grams of protein
1 sweet exchange = up to 15 grams of carbohydrates + up to 5 grams of fat
1 free exchange = up to 5 grams of carbohydrates or up to 2 grams of protein or fat
Exchange lists are here: https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists.
What you may be seeking is something like this:
Breakfast: 2 carb, 1 protein, 1 fat, 1 fruit
Morning Snack: 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 fruit
Lunch: 1 carb, 2 protein, 1 fat, 1 veg
Afternoon Snack: 1 carb, 1 protein, 1 veg
Dinner: 1 carb, 2 protein, 1 fat, 1 veg
Evening Snack: 1 protein, 1 fat

Hi, Janette. That sounds great. Much depends on the portion sizes for the fruits and nuts, of course – generally 1 cup for fresh fruit, and 2 tablespoons for dried fruits or nuts.

i eat an early lunch so I usually have a snack of nuts and fruit is that ok

Hi, Podell60, and welcome! Click on the “My Food Choices” icon in the toolbar above your menu, and you will be brought to the main food list area. The items you are seeking are in the “Proteins” category. For yor cereal, you can swap out any dairy products you have in your breakfast or morning snack menu.

I am a new member & I cannot find low fat milk OR eggs anywhere on the list. When I change cottage cheese the sub comes up 1 egg. I like cereal for breakfast but without milk? Bread but no milk?

Hi, Zydnia. Week 3 in the “8-Week Plan” has a link to your new menu, toward the middle of the page.

Hi, I have completed my first 2 weeks of meal plan given to me. For wk 3 do I get a meal plan or have to make my own?

Hi I just joined, I clicked on the link for my favorite foods, nothing there for step 3 in getting started. I want to go shopping and get some things I’ll need for the week. I want to make this keto diet effective. I was hoping to see a list of foods I’d need to purchase

Hi – I just signed up and hit the “fast” option on the menu generator to see a sample. I have LS and Keto both checked in my settings, and it is def not a Keto diet. I wanted to switch to the more time intensive version of the 3 choices for the planner, but I can’t get back to that. When I click on the menu planner, it just keeps taking me to the already created one. I tried “new menu” and it just made another for me. I am def not going to adjust each item on each meal forever more, lol. Please tell me how to get back to the first 3 options for the meal planner.
Thank you!!

Hi, gramsdale. To make your menu keto-compliant, access the subapplication of the Menu Planner by clicking on the circular arrow icon on the right side of each meal header. Once in that area, select foods of your choice to match the food group exchanges listed, but making the following substitutions:
1. Two fats for each carbohydrate exchange
2. Non-starchy vegetables instead of fruits, one exchange for one exchange
3. No sweet exchange
4. Talk to your health care provider about multivitamin/mineral and calcium supplements.
You may find our sample menu helpful (https://www.trimdownclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/14-Day-Keto-Express-Meal-Plans.pdf). Note, however, that the portion sizes may differ from those needed to meet your nutritional needs – it is still best to refer to your menu pattern (visible by clicking on “Exchange mode” in the toolbar above your menu) and list of exchanges (https://www.trimdownclub.com/exchanges-lists).
