![]() | How do I align my menu with my wife’s menu. If we both use the same menu are there different portions sizes or other adjustments for gender, weight, and age? |
![]() | Hi, HrtTrnslplnt. Congratulations in advance! I am always here if you have any questions or concerns. |
![]() | Hi, Capic. A “health bar” is a snack bar based on whole food ingredients, for example, “Lara Bar,” “Pure Bar,” etc. You know it is suitable by look at what is in it. See below for the type of ingredients list we recommend: |
![]() | Hi Ossie-Sharon TY for the reply. You are right. I am on anti-rejection meds. 2 1/2mg of Tacrolimus 2X a day and Azathioprine 50mg 1X day. I am also on Levothyroxine 88mg a day for my thyroid. I will cut back carbs and see what happens. 6 year Birthday on July 4, 2019 🙂 |
![]() | Hello, my plan specifies a “health bar.” What exactly is this? |
![]() | Hi, HrtTransplant. Yes, it looks like you would benefit from cutting back on some of the starchy carbohydrates – especially if you have been on anti-rejection medication. |
![]() | I need help! I am a type 2 diabetic on insulin after having a heart transplant. I started the 8 week plan a week and a half ago. My husband is eating the exact same foods as I am and he lost 7lbs in a week and a half and I lost nothing!! Do I need to cut back on the carbs recommended in my menu? |
![]() | Hi, Jcovarrubias. If you are trying to avoid carbohydrates altogether, you may benefit from our keto meal plan, which you can get through Customer Service (you can reach them through the “Contact Us” link at the bottom of this page). |
![]() | Hello, I just join and I am confused with the amount of fat, protein, carbs, etc. I was told i can not eat carbs and I see lots of pasta recipes. Can you explain? How do I measure my food? Thank you! |
![]() | Nobody has said it like that. High fiber carbs set off the bells and whistles. |
![]() | Hi, SkinnyLynn – exactly…plus whole grain cereals, sides (like brown Basmati rice), etc., as well as legumes (beans and peas), nuts, and of course, fruits and vegetables. |
![]() | High fiber carbs? Like whole-grain breads? |
![]() | Hi, SkinnyLynn. Most foods do indeed have carbs, but “watching” them means being aware of amounts and limiting them, and definitely avoiding simple, refined carbs – high-fiber carbs are fine. Our program is pretty much based on those principles. |
![]() | Thanks so much. Everyone is advising me to watch carbs. This gets confusing because everything has carbs. |
![]() | Hi, SkinnyLynn. Thanks very much for the update. It is likely that you need to avoid salty foods – mostly processed – which we hope you are avoiding anyway. For smoothies, brightly colored fruits and vegetables and dark green leafy vegetables, ground nuts, along with fermented liquids like yogurts and kefirs with active cultures (full fat and without sugar or artificial sweeteners – add your own Stevia/erythritol) are the best while you are dealing with multiple challenges. |
