![]() | Great job on the water intake, annaleeramos, and thanks for your advice. I need to get into the same habits you have developed on drinking water…! Water and green / brown teas (unsweetened) are definitely the way to go! |
![]() | WATER…. I have been doing really well with my ten glasses of water. Every day, I print out my menu plan for the day and way at the bottom of it, I added a water chart with ten squares. I call it my Water intake Goal. I don’t mind it at all and as I check every thing off through out the day, It just gives me that much more encouraged to do well. I place my initials in a square for every 8oz glass of water I drink. When I feel I have just about had enough of the water I drink me a cup of green tea with stevia and lemon. By the time I finish my next meal, I’m thirsty and go looking for the water. So…. That’s how I do it. How about the rest of you? How is every one doing with the water intake? The water is a big key point in losing the weight. It helps flush out all of the impurities first, and then it start to work on unneeded fat in the body, as well as you body doesn’t want to keep all that water in because it knows more is coming, so a lot of inflammation and water retention goes away too. |
| Hey Annaleeramos….funny, I just had a look at that article on the sleep. I knew that was a problem, but was good to read through and be reminded of what I knew. I am actually going for a sleep apnoea test today…and some blood tests next week.I am so tired and lacking energy, partly from the heat, partly from being so heavy, but I think my iron levels are very low as well. I loved that you were surprised to be so proud of cooking and eating all day…the Mexican way…now you can still do it, but in a different way hey? Haha…you got a good start on some of us! I hate preparing food…I would much rather have someone look after that part of my life for me!!! Hey maybe you could…heheh! Good to see you on FB. |
![]() | Hi all – one question…about bread….I totally love bread and definitely cannot live with out it. But since reading much about SWG bread, I am scared to have anything else, and in Japan (where I live) breads are mostly white, soft and soft; lots of French bread, and poor attempts at rye-bread…..I am on the hunt for good bread shops right now, but my question is..what should I be looking for….dark breads with lots of seeds in them ONLY? Can I no longer enjoy French breads? What about the odd Bagel? Any chance of a piece of sweet bread now and then. Or should I only be looking for breads with seeds and grains in them? |
![]() | Thank you so much Seaborn. The only thing I am doing at the moment is trying my best to follow my menu plan given to me. I am being brave and have been trying all kinds of new foods I have never had. My old diet was pretty much Mexican food because that is how I was reared. I prep, I cook, I eat, all day long. Haha. Wow. I never thought I would say that and be proud of it. LOL I am not yet exercising due to the weather being wet outside and need it to dry up. However, I did try to just keep moving when I go shopping. Plenty of stretching in the morning and before I go to bed. Good old physical therapy. I also learned from one of the articles up on the top of the page. One on getting a good nights sleep. I am having trouble with that. Any way. People who do not get enough sleep have release a type of chemical that makes you feel hungry and sluggish. Truly worth giving it a looksy. Take care, and good eating. :} |
| OREGON GIRL…Been thinking about you…how are things going with you? |
| Haha…that’s right Harbourview! I have been drinking it, but I was already drinking 8, so it is not so hard for me. I can’t see the weight falling off me because of it EDHARRIS333…but I am sure it will help later….so long as we don’t sink!!!Heheh…. |
![]() | I have to confess, I’m not drining 10 glasses of water each day. That might be why I only lost 2.5 lbs. I like water, but 10 glasses is a lot of water. How are you doing with that? |
![]() | If we all drink enough water the ship will run aground! |
![]() | Everyone is talking about the food but how do you all get on with drinking ten glasses of water a day? |
| Morning girls and boys….well, I slept in this morning, so today I have to shovel the food in I think, or I won’t keep up with it all!!!! No loss this morning….Like CARREENIA and many of us, my body is in fat storing mode…plus I think all the carbs (it would be the bread and couscous) are stirring up my digestive problem. Trying some new foods like gluten free stuff, and rice milk, which I have had with my coffee this morning…it’s quite nice actually. Need to track down the wholegrain bread and give it a go before I quit the breads I think.I am feeling a bit more lively though. Great to just sit and read through all the comments each morning over a cuppa. Thankyou all for the great support. MADDISTEALFOX…how are you doing? HEYSHAMMARIA…hang in there girl…maybe you just need to simplify your menu more…I am not cooking anything and I just throw salads togethe…lol. CARREENIA all the best as you make your start on the diet. ANNALEERAMOS good on you…10 pounds is great…how did you do it? What exercise are you doing love? GINNERLOU congratulations on 48 years of marriage…we just celebrated 38!! Hope it is a wonderful day for you both. Looking forward to our rain too! Apart from the battle to lose the weight, we all have other areas of our lives that weigh us down. I think that when we are overweight (esp like I am) it melts away our confidence, stops our abilities, and fogs our wise thinking in some of the areas which are most important to us….like our relationships, our homes, work, etc.. For me to get the weight off will change those things…I have four young grandchildren around me, and being so uncomfortable and sore prevents me from enjoying the things I should be doing with them. It also makes me irritable. So my next big move is onto “Fitness”! Gotta go walking with my camera every morning after I drop my husband at work…so could you lot remind me each day…okay? Ask me…tell me…push me!!! I hate going walking but I need to walk through the pain I get in my sore foot, through the heat, through the lack of desire to go, and JUST DO IT! Just’cause we are on a “cruise ship” doesn’t mean we won’t hit some “storms”…gotta learn to “smile” at the “storm” and keep sailing!!! Oh here I go…blah blah blah…hahaha…all the best today with your goals…Bev. |
![]() | judystrimdownclub SWG Bread is SPROUT WHOLE GRAIN. It’s in the frozen food section. I had a hard time finding it too. If your store has it, you will also find the SWG English Muffins in the same place. |
![]() | Now. About the egg beaters, I have no idea. I did find the eggs with omega 3. EB eggs. You can also keep an eye out for the carton of eggs that say free range, or non caged fed. I really hope this information is helpful. Good Luck. And Good Eating. 🙂 |
![]() | Oh. And yes. Almond milk is ok as well. |
![]() | Howdy Dianesayre, I have the same problem with milk. But the good news is, get this, rice milk. Its actually not all that bad. And for you others who can have dairy try Horizon’s organic milk. Wal-Mart also has a cheaper version of organic milk. Now that I take lactose pills from my doctor I can now enjoy the regular milk once again, but this time I am going with the Wal-Mart brand with great results. |
