![]() | I have one more question. I see recipes that I like but they are not coming up for me on my menu or my exchange item list. How do I know what to exchange them for? Maybe they could enter that unto each recipe, for example taco’s can be exchanged for turkey/beans etc… |
![]() | Thanks so much Ossie! We are finding some of the menu difficult due to boredom since we are picky eaters. I don’t mind eating fruit and vegies but a select few. It would be nice to see the categories of foods all on one page and then select one serving from each for each meal. The exchange menu doesn’t always give you stuff that you like. for example I exchanged 1 cup of green beans for 1/2 cup of peas since I was sick of beans and don’t like parsnips. Only because peas were higher in calories so that’s why we went with only a half cup. Also the organic and raw stuff is not always in the budget so we focus on buying the light and fat free when possible. Think that would be ok I hope. I have been on this 3-1/2 days and put on 1-1/2 lbs so far so I hope that will change. I have been doing cardio but I started that 3 weeks ago and we do that 3-4 times a week since we started so I can’t imagine that I am still putting muscle on but I am not giving up. Any comments/suggestions appreciated. I love the question/answers on here. They are so helpful and just for that reason I want to make this work. We quit smoking 4 years ago and I started an office job at the same time and I have put on 50 lbs since then and whats bad is I was already 50 lbs overweight so now I am 100 lbs overweight. |
![]() | Hi, cntwall. It is fine to skip the last snack of the day if you don’t feel hungry and go to bed soon after dinner (you’re right – unless you’re a diabetic, it is best not to sleep on a full stomach). However, since that last snack often contains a serving of fruit, do be sure that you squeeze it in somewhere else during the day so that you get a minimum of 5 servings of fruits/vegetables per day. |
![]() | Hi, Easymate. I would caution you on eating so little because it could backfire and cause rebound weight gain. Have you had experience with other weight loss programs? Are you physically active? If you would like to post a sample day from your menu along with your height and weight, I can assess how well it fits your needs. |
![]() | Hi, Djfer, and welcome! Can you be more specific regarding the difficulties? |
![]() | I am new, today, and I am totally confused with the meal planner. Any help would be appreciated. |
![]() | Thank you R2B2, Jackiee, and Bev. Welcome to all of the Newbies. So happy to see all the new names. Jackiee, Thank you for adding me to your Facebook. I accepted you yesterday. Gingerlou and Bev, I went ahead and added the two of you on Facebook. Jackiee, your little one is so cute, and im sorry to hear about her eating your snack and using the last piece as a pencil on your white wall. You have to admit. Thinking about your little cheekie monkey, That was just too cute. LOL. I hope the white wall is doing well. |
![]() | Hi Im new to the site Seems to be a lot of food in menus |
| Hi there all you cruisin’ buddies….well so much has been happening without me again….I had to grab a speed boat to catch up to you!!! |
![]() | Really pleased, another 2lb lost, that’s my first half a stone gone. |
![]() | Thanks awayagain4. In total i have about 45pounds to lose but a s,ow and steady loss is better than rushing it. More of a chance to keep it off. |
![]() | Good morning fellow cruisers The UK is still very cold. Yesterday’s snow has frozen and the side roads are a sheet of ice. Wow, Jackiee. How do you find the time to write all that stuff? I’m so impressed. I don’t know about booking for Spain for next year – we could be off this year if this weather continues. We have our own little snow angel. Our puppy came back from his walk this morning covered in snow – he likes to roll – and his snowy beard made him look like an advert for Santa Claus. Looking back over the past two weeks I feel so glad that I decided to fork out for organic food. I feel good knowing that I’m doing my body a real favour. My menu, after a lot of tweaking, is working out fine. I have porridge for breakfast with a little organic low fat yogurt and a sprinkle of cinnamon. I’m not finding wholegrain bread too much of a tooth breaker as I tend to dunk it in homemade soup for lunch. I quite like rye crispbreads as a snack spread with a little low fat cream cheese. I’ve also started to include a small helping of nuts into my diet. I have no problem with fruit and veg as I’ve always had my five a day. Kelz1973, 1 pound weight loss is good. Depending on how much weight you have to lose 1-2 pounds a week is the recommended weight loss. A little bird told me we might be having a family wedding this year. That’s a good incentive to lose weight and should help to keep me focussed. Have a good day shipmates and may God go with you. |
![]() | Yeh Jackiee it will be good. Although it wasnt too bad at the work cafe as we have a salad bar and you could make your own. Although with some of the mixed salads I wasnt always sure what dressings were on it. I had a wrap today for lunch. It was a chia seed wrap and I filled it with salad vegees. I only lost a small amount the first week about 1 pound but I am not too disappointed cos things are new to me and I still need to add more exercise to my weekly regime. I did a little last week ut just need to mix it up a bit, |
![]() | Good news and not so good news. THE GOOD NEWS: I had a blood test this morning to see if I am dehydrated and I’m not, at least at this time. THE NOT SO GOOD NEWS: The terrible cramps and pains in my legs and feet are probably from my back. I’m thankful though, that I am not dehydrated 🙂 Going to bed now. Just got home from our University of Iowa men’s basketball game and we won. YEA! We played Wisconsin. Getting up early for church tomorrow morning. We drive an hour one way to our church. It’s worth it though. 🙂 |
![]() | Thanks for the responses Seaborn and Jackiee. I will have to try that with subbing the free veggies for the green beans. My husband has another question for Ossie or anyone. Will it hurt to skip the last snack of the day if we don’t feel hungry? We tend to not eat until 630p and don’t like to eat right before bed and we go to bed around 10p I was always told its not good to eat 3 hrs before bedtime. Is that still true? |
