Hi, Yvonne. Each cup of milk contains 12 grams of carbohydrates, nearly a whole ADA carb exchange – therefore, it is best to count it among your total carbs (you don’t want extras to add up without compensating with insulin or meds).

Tyson uses powerful antibiotics in their products, so they can’t really be recommended here. Costco has a pretty good system for screening their meat, and get most of their meat from Niman Ranch (generally quite free from undesirable additives), so I would go with that. Just try to get the leanest possible.

Hi Ossie,
I just read your reply to Montana63 about milk on cereal. Can you please expand on your comment re being diabetic and having milk, as I am diabetic. Is there anything special I need to know for your diet.
Thanks, Yvonne

Hi, Montana63. In the Menu Planner, there are items that have the cereal and milk together, but other than that, if you use non-fat/skim milk and are not a diabetic, you can add up to a cup without any real impact on the diet.

Hi i joined the diet at the end of last week, went shopping yesterday but strugled to find swg bread and brown rice noodles.
i have ordered them on line now fom healthy supplies .co.uk.
Feeling excited as the diet is not the normal way i am used to.
Have starved myself in the past, and yes piled more weight back on every time.
This diet makes sence, so looking forward to the end of the week at the loss.

Good morning all 😀 or evening or afternoon, Hope you are all well?

Chia- on the recipes page, have you checks the drinks before doing a search for shake – I tried and got 4 pages of recipes for them. I think you would need to contact technical support regarding your menu planner problem because I just check if mines would generate a new one. I can only think that you need to mae sure each section has a tick before hitting the finish, for previous menu’s maybe the technical support can help you.
Montana 63, sorry cereal is a grey areas for me, but if you had a yogurt portion you could you that or change it for milk, I always have porridge which always includes milk, Ossie should be able to clarify this soon.
weighed in today, only lost 1\2 kilo but it all counts, fingers crossed next week I can shift 1 kilo
Well all, busy day today and got to fit in a walk so keeping it short!!!! 😀 give you all less reading. Thinking of you all in UK with the snow, hope it get better soon. Happy healthy eating all 😀

OSSIE – there are no shakes.
Do you know why my new entries for a new menu won’t take? Also, my Jan 7th menu says it’s Jan 13. I did the correct step in saving and clicking on FINISH. Nothing happens.

When they give you a portion of cereal for breakfast or snack and don’t list milk…can you put milk on it??

montana63 12 years ago

Ossie – can I use Tyson chicken breast, pork chops, Costco pre made (fresh not frozen) big hamberger patties?

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago

Hi, Chia. When you go into the Recipes area above, enter “shake” into the search box, and it will pull up all of the program’s shake recipes.
To count carbs, note that an exchange is an average piece of fruit or cup of fruit. A cup of non-fat milk is a protein. 4 tsps. of coconut milk is a fat.

OSSIE & JACKIEE:
Thank you Jackiee for your reply. I did just what you said but it didn’t stay in my history. As a matter of fact, my history says Jan 13th and I think I made out my first menu on Jan 6th, because I went to the store to get the groceries for it and started eating it on Jan 7th. What happened?

Hi Yvonnebaker here’s a link that helpful https://www.trimdownclub.com/where-to-buy-uk but in general have heard on here that whole grain, organic whole grain and ryecrispbread are a few good alternatives good luck.

Awayagain4 I can understand your love of italy, there hasn’t been a place I’ve been to here that I don’t love….i’m a lucky lady…ecpecially since we get a lot less snow here than the uk. Enjoy your casserole 😀

OSSIE — when we get off this diet (or while we are on it), are there any smoothies that would be healthy and within our energy, carb, fat and protein specifications? If so, can you post a few recipes, ingredients, etc, and tell us how many carb,s proteins, fats, to have in each one so we don’t get too much or not enough?
