I am starting with baby steps. Was going to have L hip replaced Jan 29. It is postponed due to “They didn’t like my chest xray.” So I can’t do much exercise, using a cane. I’m just getting recipes and trying to eat a balanced combo of carbs, protein, and fruits and veggies. There is a lot to read and to ingest it all and get rolling.

Kelz1973 – Great you can order on line and have it delivered. Can you let me know the website please. Not that I will have any hope getting it delivered here but I might be able to arrange something when I know I am in Adelaide.

Hi, my name is Kristie. I signed up for this earlier this week but I haven’t started the diet yet. I will do that when I go grocery shopping again this weekend. Right now I’m just reading through all the materials.

I have already lost 10 lbs. since the beginning of October but with the holidays I had gained a few pounds. Starting last week, I started watching my diet and exercising again and I am now back down to the 10 lb. lost. I have 135 lbs. I want to lose yet.

Also, in the past week, I have finally starting going through a different mindset that I haven’t ever before with my years of yo-yo dieting. I’m tired of being unhealthy in life and I finally feel like I deserve to be healthy and happy in life. The last few days that I haven’t been able to workout like I want to, I have been visualing myself working out more. I actually wanted to work out more (which is a new concept for me) but I was busy at the time.

I’m going to get back with track on exercise today as i’m going to walk a total of an hour at work and then go home and shovel snow.

Have a good day all!

Good evening all.

I am a happy girl right now. I just did my fruit and vegetable order which I do online and the place I order from also does bread. And they have Sprouted Grain Bread. Yes its more expensive but hey healthy eating is the key and I am willing to pay a little more.

Aha…so that info was only for diabetics! Thanks for that Ossie…glad you let me know love…

Ossie-Sharon 12 years ago

For diabetics, yes whole oats are better – the less cut down, the better. Diabetics do indeed have additional considerations.

Sorry LynM and Ossie….I am obviously wrong about the oats!!! My husband is a diabetic and we have been given the information from various sources that tradional oats (Uncle Toby’s) are better than the quick variety for low GI…I thought I knew!!! Will have to check why we have been told that! I don’t normally answer questions like that on here so I will continue to leave it to the experts…LOL!

Week two nearly completed, have not lost any weight so far this this week, but I feel good. My clothes are not tight, and I have energy. I am enjoying my half hour walk on the treadmill each night and have decided that this is my way forward because I can still be around the children, usually when they are in their rooms doing work, but they know I am in the house.
I think I may be eating too many carbs, but aim following the my plan. I must admit this is a generated plan where I do not have to cook anything too major as this is not my skill in life. My husband tends to cook, whilst I complete any school work and chat to to the kids.
Well, must head of to school and set the classroom up.
Enjoy your day folks, and those just joining, if it makes you feel this good changing what you eat, the weight lose is important, but the feeling gives you the motivation to get up and want to go. Xx

Regarding coffee, by itself it is considered a free beverage – though moderation is recommended for other reasons, and of course, organic is always best (nasty pesticides are used in most coffees). If you add sweetener, recommended options include natural Stevia, monk fruit, or xylitol. For a whitener, try to go as skim as possible.

Hi, Monz. Alcohol does add up, so it is recommended to make it a once-in-a-while thing. Dry red wine is a healthy options, and just a few fluid ounces at a time (half a regular wine glass). It is important that you enjoy life, so we don’t say “never”! See the program’s Quick Start Guide (in My Downloads above) section on beverages for a thorough explanation and some tips.

Hi, Lynn. “Quick cooking” oats are cut, rolled, and sometimes steamed – not the type of chemical-induced or depleting processing that is concerning. No worries!

Hi, R2B2. The program will be doing something like this in the near future. In the meantime, I can tell you the general percents of energy are 25-30% from fat, 45-50% from carbs, 20-30% from protein.
