Actually, I purchased kettlebells a few years ago but because I did not feel very well, I stopped using them. You can read about the cardio and other benefits of kettlebell training in the following article. Also if you search You Tube you will find many videos. Buying them is relatively cheap and you don’t need a Gym to practise the exercises as long as you stay away from Windows or glass structures. You will understand when you see the videos. Please note your muscular mass will increase and impact on your weight as a result.

Congratulations, Radisson! Blood pressure and cholesterol are heavy hitters and I’m so glad you’re getting them under control 😀 I’m cheering you on for the last 8 1/2 lbs! Oh, and if you find a way to exercise regularly, please share. Exercise and I have not been on the same page in a while. I might as well get on board with that while I’m doing this. If old habits gotta get dusted off, might as well do that at the same time. Keep it up and I’ll check in w y’all soon 😀

I know the feeling of being stuck there. I joined TDC in mid-January for health reasons mainly to control my blood pressure and lower my cholesterol count. I have been feeling much better, more energy then before, better mood swing control. Also, guess what, I lost 4 1/2 pounds already. I am 8 1/2 pounds from reaching my normal BMI overall since last year I lost 21 1/2 pounds. My wife loves the new what is left of me. I have no doubts that I will reach my goal before our Canadian summer starts. In the meantime I have to find a way to exercise on a regular basis.

Hi all 🙂 so fun to hear about success around the world. I’m near Atlanta Ga and am new to TDC. I started last week on Saturday so this is my 1st week anniversary. I don’t have a great gap to my goal weight, but I’ve struggled with 15 stubborn pounds for years. Lol! If there’re any Nickleback fans out there, most recently I was on the “we all stay skinny cuz we just don’t eat” diet. And STILL couldn’t lose the last 15. I’ve never joined this type of thing because mostly they’re about weight, not health. This site seemed about both and that hooked me.

One week into the diet, I’m feeling full – for the first time in a loooong time – energetic 😀 – and I lost 5 of the stupid 15 pounds. In 1week. By eating and feeling great. Go figure. It certainly is a challenge in an unexpected way. It seems I’m either shopping, prepping, fixing, eating or cleaning food – hahaha! I’m an eating machine! But feeling great and quickly heading toward the new me. Just in time for short weather coming up in 2 short months here. I’m sold and even my husband is 3/4s on board. (He’s lost 10 lbs and loving life. He’s just finished a breakfast of yogurt, oats and fruit and has been so full with all the constant meals I’ve been fixing, has been pretty cheat-free.) For me, I’ve not cheated once. When I started, my gift to myself was 1 meal after 1 week where I was going to eat anything I wanted. I’d even picked the pie I was going to make for dessert. You know what? I don’t want it this week. Maybe next week 😀

Good wishes to everyone and Godspeed to the new you. <3 reading your stories and hope you enjoyed mine 🙂

HiAll.

Right. It’s day one of my new eating regime. I’ve just cleared the cupboard of anything unhealthy and I’m now off to do the week’s shopping. Some of the foods in my list are things I’ve never heard of… Tempeh, Amaranth, Edamame??? I’ve been searching the net to find alternatives…. Think I’m sorted now… Don’t think this is going to be easy but I like a bit of a challenge… Hope you’re all doing well… I’ll sign in again tomorrow and let you know how it’s going and read your posts… Good Luck everyone and keep up the good work xxx

Ossie, my son has just been diagnosed wheat and gluten intolerance. So I have purchased the rice flour and white flour blend to cook with. Can I substitute these into any recipes.
Does anyone know if these are a plain sort of flour or a raising sort of flour?
This probably makes me sound terrible, but I have never cooked like this before

Good morning, evening, middle of the day to you all.
I have been very busy over the last week with planning for school with the exam season about to start and the transfer for primary to secondary beginning to get on way. With my op any time from April I have to make sure everything is in place.
I am really pleases with my self, lost 9 lb in 3 weeks, for all those people who aren’t sure, that’s more than I lost on ww, and every week I do this now is free in a sense because to join other clubs you have the joining fee and then the weekly cost. Winner all round I feel, and I feel like a true winner. Energy levels are up, enthusiasm and motivation in all areas of life are up, and I just want to do things, even been out walking with my son and with my husband.
I know need to cook some of the recipes, I have tended to stick to the printed plan, but with half term in a weeks time, I am going to cook. I work in a different county to where the children are in education, so we have different half terms this time. I had thought it a disaster, but the more I think about it the more I can have a week for me, just cooking and walking my dog across the open countryside.
I suppose this is where I am going to come a little unstuck for ingredients, but will have the time to go off and search for them on my own.
So here we go,
AND A FINAL THOUGHT TO YOU ALL, READING THE POSTS IS ONE OF THE THINGS TO SPUR ME ON, I DONT WANT TO LET MYSELF OR YOU GUYS DOWN, I WILL DO THIS, ONE STEP AT A TIME, AND I FEEL YOU HAVE MY BACK. I KNOW I ALWAYS HAVE SOMEWHERE TO GO WHEN I FEEL I CAN’T DO IT. SO THANKS FOR ALL THE SUPPORT WE GIVE TO EVERYONE

Hi Marcia,
If you will go to Apps (at the top of the page), then go to Menu History at the bottom of that page, it should pull up the dates of the menus you have created. Click on that and it will open up a PDF.
Happy healthy eating,
Doryss

Help! I was updating my food choices and ready to print out a new week’s menu and it went away and I can’t find where I click to return. I am so enjoying the Newbie forum. I have tried a couple recipes and also slowly getting into the routine. My weight has gone down a little. If this keeps up I will be thrilled.

It’s amazing, when you get off the sugar, how the cravings go away! I’m doing well with the menu plan, however, when I’m in school (Tues.-Thurs.) it’s a little harder to make the preparations. I’ve learned to cook double of whatever I’m fixing, then the next time, I just have to warm it up! I loved my steamed veggie’s today with honey mustard dressing on it. Just one tablespoon really made them delicious! I have diabetes II, and this morning my blood levels were excellent! If nothing else works, this program will be worth it for controlling those hikes I was so guilty of having!
My name is Katie, by the way, I live in St. George, Utah. Have a great weekend, and thanks to all of you for your input!

Hahha…should have read that last posting before submitting it hey? BILLYLYN I meant I hope you can give “your husband” a smaller you love…not mine!!! haha..

Morning/evening all you cruising buddies….
lol…Jackiee should be tucked up in her little bed snoring at present!!! Nice to hear people are noticing your weight loss love.
It is the weekend, and if I sit here doing this and not my housework or any other more important things (in the eyes of my husband that is) I will be feeling guilty, because he is out working very hard as usual…today he is pushing the mower through the thick, long, lush, green grass that has changed the look of the east coast of our country in the past week! So nice instead of the brown it was. Anyway I better make it quick!!! Lol…
It is great to see so many doing so well with the weight coming off….keep it up…the ship needs to get lighter even if I don’t help..lol…But it just goes to show that it works, doesn’t it? I am so pleased I found this place.
BILLYLYN…I would have loved to have seen that snow coming down sideways…obviously there was a lot of wind with it!!! The rain here last week was doing the same! I laughed at your question about looking better after a couple of vodkas!!! I remember the days when I did drink alcohol (lots of it at a time) I always thought I looked better after a couple of whatevers, until one night I stood beside a lady in the toilets, and saw her in the mirror and with horror realised that I looked like her and she was well and truly over the limit…I was 20 and she was about my age now!!! heheh…I knew then I had to leave the stuff alone…but, of course I didn’t for a few more years!!! Had a few more lessons to learn yet….
I don’t think my husband is going to get a smaller me for Valentine’s Day…oh that’s right, we don’t celebrate it!!! But I hope you can give him that gift love. I might be able to give him a smaller me for his birthday in May!!! Lol.
Ginnerlou..I was wondering where you were…poor you!
I am going to stop the “blethering” that I learned from my young friend Jackiee…and probably catch up with you all on Monday! Hope all my Aussie mates are doing well…sail on, be safe, eat “well”, and be happy!!!
Bev…..
