JACKIE…I would hardly think it was you…but I will join you in this…BILLYLYN, if I have behaved inappropriately on here, I am sorry. The last thing I would want is to see someone leave…whether it be over something I did, or for any other reason! As MADDISTEALFOX said, “don’t give up as this is a great thread for the info you need…and support….which really helps”.

Billylynn, sorry if I have said anything that might warrant at flirting, just incase. I come on here to read the thread about health eating plan, give my progress ect and see updates from how people are getting on and know I tend to rattle on, but that just me. I never intend to offend anyone.

hi Billilyn- yes it is a shame when someone says inappropriate things and also go off course…but don’t give up as this is a great thread for the info you need…and support….which really helps. 🙂

Hi y’all,
I’ve really enjoyed the conversation but not the flirting. I think I’ll give y’all a pass for right now, which I really hate to do but I’ll check back later.

Apensa, indeed it is interesting that the husbands of women who include them in their dieting efforts here all seem to be about 6 ft tall, and weigh around 250 lbs! An interesting coincidence…:)

Hi, antiqanon42. They are called “shakes” here – enter the word “shake” in the search box in the Recipes section.

I don’t see smothies.Are there any??

apensa 12 years ago

Yep, Ossie. That always seems to be true.

Hi, Yvonne. Your husband probably needs about 1/3 more than you.

Hi, Chia. THese appear to be approximately 1600 calories, but please don’t focus on this aspect. Remember – we avoid working with calories in the program, but rather focus on you meeting your nutritional needs.

Hi Ossie,
Thanks very much for your replies, we are getting better at judging what we can eat.
My husband is 6ft, weighs 262lbs (after losing 3lbs in week 1), he is 78 and not very active due to hip and knee arthritis and replacement and also a heart bypass 4 years ago. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak. His target weight is as low as he can possible get it but at least 235lbs.
Thank you for all your help. I look forward to receiving your advice.

OSSIE: OOOOPS! I MADE A MISTAKE IN MY WORDS AND IT DIDN’T MAKE SENSE. “CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT HOW MANY CALORIES THERE WOULD BE IN EACH OF MY MEALS THAT I HAD YOU FIGURE?” I’d just like to have an idea of how many I am getting or need to lose weight with healthy foods. Thank you! 🙂

Thanks Ossie. The broth is low sodium and no fat. The canned veggies are the same “Less Sodium” lableled.

Hi, Yvonne. The following are answers to your questions:
1. Bananas were not one of the foods never to eat. They were mentioned as a good source of potassium. They are higher in sugar than most other fresh fruits, and so 1/2 is considered an equivalent to others such as a medium-sized apple.
2. You can add as much curry (especially yellow curry) to anything and everything you want. The key component, turmeric, is one of the healthiest things in the world, and has no fat or sugar.
3. Yes, a tablespoon of baked beans as a spread is a great idea! Just be sure they aren’t loaded with sugar and lard.
4. Currently, the system is only made for one user at a time. If you want to post his age, height, weight, weight goal (loss or maintenance), history of dieting, and activity level, I can calculate how much he needs compared to you, so you can plan portion sizes for preparation.
5. 1 cup of cooked pasta or rice is about 2 ounces dry.
Glad to know it is going well for you!
