What a bit of a disaster of a day you’ve had….hope you manage to tolk your hubby into dinning out somewhere later after the day you’ve had sounds like you need a double valentines dinner night. Hope things are brighter tomorrow 🙂 |
![]() | Good evening all, hope everyones having a happy valentine (if you celebrate it) I’m assuming me and Seaborn aren’t the only ones on our off day or having naughty nibblings. 🙂 My hubby was so happy with his home made lasagna and love heart chocolate cake tonight( one half of which was covered on nutella and shavings of dark chocolate, the other was sprinkle with a little icing sugar)…the cake was made without butter too and didn’t have the nuttella part either……JUST DON’T ASK WHAT WAS IN THE LASAGNA….but I had a small portion and no seconds ….so resonable happy with my effort. My hubby was happy because he thought we weren’t doing anything…I reminded him that it was me that too a rain cheque for my potted plant until the may flower show (only because thats when my favorites come into season). My wee one was so excited too giving him a card and photo dome with love heart floating inside. I was even more happy he remembered to bring her a wee kinder egg home, she was make up with it 😀 …bless Roxxy..sorry not sure about Kellogg’s Special K Multi Grain Oats and Honey….maybe Ossie didn’t see your post amongst all our chatting..did you post this question on other forums too…hope someone helped you out. Glad to see you bac Kelz….missed you on here Tilda, I should really try the pizza from the menu too since I do make it quite often here…sounds yummy, will look out for low fat mozerella now..much better than my idea of grating the mozerella to help put less on my own pizza. Oh and WELL DONE on the weight loss too. So wondering how your valentine Italian meal went Chia, were you good or bad!!!! Good luck at the hospital (today) Bev, hope it’s all good news. Happy to hear you had a lovely meal with family and yummy cake after too ;-), thinking of you and await update soon on your results. Well my wee one fever is yoyoing with this flu…wish I could swap her sypmtoms because she seems to be suffering much more than me…but hopefully these antibotics will helps her get over it soon. Happy healthy eating (tomorrow) everyone 😉 Oh just wondering did you manage to have a Healthy Valentines meal OSSIE? |

![]() | TO EVERYONE: |
| You are welcome Sharon….good to see you have had a better time. Ginger and the other cooks…good on you…I haven’t tried anything yet…will have to soon though. I like the ease of my simple dishes. My daughter made a valentines dinner for her hubby and the kids tonight….a lovely chicken dish that dried out by the time he got home from work…and a beautiful layered coconut cake with pink hearts around the side!!! Bill and I had chinese with the other daughter and family and a young friend….it was so yummy! But we went to the other daughters place after for a coffee (well I had my green tea) and we were treated to this gorgeous cake. So, I have had my naughty day, now I am back to the hard slog tomorrow! Off to the doc tomorrow to find out what that sleep test says about me!!! Better go to bed…night all…yes, as Ginger said…smooth sailing….and have a great day tomorrow! Bev. |
![]() | Thanks Chia and Seaborn for encouragment and Ossie – great idea, I love soup and will make some to store for the munchie days. I was back on track yesterday (weds) and feel better for it today. |
![]() | hi lynnm thank for your help it was on a packet of rice flour and I just wondered what it was and why and when you would use it thank you again |
![]() | Hi – I have tried 5 of the recipes on here so far and I liked 3 out of 5. The one I like best is the Pizza Pesto al Greco. I really love the SWG wraps (tortillas) for the crust. It is extra think and crispy, just the way I like my crust. I tried one with pizza sauce, low skim mozarella cheese and turkey pepperoni and it was really good too – actually, I liked it better. Unfortunately, being at work 5 days a week, 12 hours a day (includes travel time) I don’t get a lot of chances to cook until the weekends so I will not be able to follow a regular menu plan. However, I have learned about some of the things I should and shouldn’t eat so I feel like I am getting good information from this program to help me lead a healthier lifestyle. I have lost 8 lbs so far and hope to lose a lot more before I go to my family reunion in May. Tilda |
![]() | Hi Ginnerlou, I make the squash omelette with one egg and 1/4 of all the other ingredients, and assume that is one serving…I really like it too! Glad you like the banana bread, I had flops twice and gave up, probably changed the proportions as I was trying to cut it in 1/2. Sandrae, xantham gum is a thickener that takes the place of gluten in some recipes….where the flour is rice or some other gluten free grain. |
![]() | Hi Ginnerlou thaak you for your menus that you have tried very handy to no please can you tell me what xanthan gum and what would you use it with looking forward to your answer |
![]() | Hello everyone. Haven’t been on this site lately but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been following the plan. Don’t want to call it a diet cause with us it’s a way of life from now on. Losing slowly but we feel so much better eating healthy. We aren’t even tempted to go out to eat cause we don’t want to put all that in our system since it’s all cleaned out ;-o. I’m sure we will when we take our vacation. Well on to my real reason to be on here now. As I told y’all in my last few comments that I was trying some new recipes and would let you know my take on them. Ok here goes – the coffee almond cookies ….they are ok, could be that I beat the egg whites too long. Taste ok, not what I thought they would taste like. Hubby liked them and he is picky! The butternut squash callout I used canned pumpkin (organic of course). I have made it twice and this last time I added the spices I would use in pumpkin pie. That was a hit! E beans and greens swg enchiladas were good, the only thing I would do differently is cooked the greens before incorporating them into the recipe. The recipe didn’t say. Hubby also liked them. Oat pancakes are good too. Just missed the syrup whic you could use and incorporate it into your daily allotment. Basic omelette is just that, basic and is good in a pinch. My husbands most favorite is the banana brown butter bread. Have made it 3 times. Cream cheese cocoa fudge cake. Picture on the recipe looks wonderful, mine didn’t look like it. Taste ok, a little grainy and not sweet, have made it twice. Tomato broccoli cheesy potato bake, we eat that a lot. Mot a fan of the strawberry shortcake. Lemon cottage cheese muffins is a staple at my house. I changed up the recipe a little this last time. Used oj instead of lemon juice, nixed the basil and used cinnamon. Really good! Cream brûlée fresh toast ….. So so. Had the squash omelette this morning. Good and will make it again. Only question I have is serving size. Says serves 2-4 and the menu says one serving. I scratch my head at that as I don’t know which serving to use ….. The 2 or the 4 as I cook for two. We love the fruit salad shake and wish it was included in the menu more often. Like the tomato stewed okra & carrots I had made this before Trim Down with stewed tomatoes (organic) so continue to do that. That’s about it trim downers. As Seaborn says, happy sailing and I’ll add smooth sailing to that! |
![]() | slimasharon: If I had self-control when it comes to dieting, I wouldn’t need to be here. I think this is why we are all here – for help and support 🙂 I ate off last week and was afraid to weigh so everyday I just walked by the scales. Then when I did weigh, I surprisingly found that I just stayed the same and it wasn’t bad afterall. I have willpower in most things, but not food 🙂 Have a peaceful day 🙂 |
![]() | stgeofun: So sorry to hear about your family trip to Alaska 🙁 |
![]() | Hi! By the way if the text is too small in your browser, go in the view menu and zoom to your liking. Good day all! |
![]() | apensa As long as you are still on board, hang in there. Too bad you could not read the article, it was meant to help you. Bottom line is ignore the scale, try to do regular exercises to tone your muscle mass. Follow your menu as much as you can. Most importantly take a break from the routine once in while without feeling guilty. Las Vegas sounds nice. As many of you, I find that I am healthier, more energetic and most of my clothing has become loose. I feel less bloated and I think I went down a size. However, no trace of that on the scale. I decided to weight myself in the morning, in the middle of the week, only every two weeks. |
