Greetings I am new to TDC. Today I print out my meals for next week. I am a coffee drinker and I see this is not on our menu?? I love water and drink alot but can anyone recommend what I should replace my coffee come morning? Tea for the morning? and what do I put on my Ezekiel bread? Can I use the apple sauce or whipped land of lakes butter? Maybe these are no no’s. New and want your advice. these recipes look great I am so anxious to start my new eating plan.

Hi, again ken1red. Your next step might be pureed and soft foods, before solids and something like a health bar (they can be a little hard to digest). Hopefully you are getting regular consultations from the dietitian on your medical team.
The division of daily intake into 6 small meals per day and avoidance of concentrated sweets is definitely something that will help you. Good luck 🙂

Thanks Ossie. I get the idea. I’m hoping trying this program will work for me. I had lap band surgery in mid-January and I’m about ready to transition from the liquid diets. My Wife’s a little skeptical about the expense of the ingredients and seeming intricacy of the recipes, but I’m motivated to give it a shot.

Hi, ken1red. The health bars that are recommended here include anything that is organic and has only whole, unprocessed ingredients and is fairly low in sugars. An example is Pure Bar – take a look at the ingredients to get an idea. http://shop.thepurebar.com/Chocolate-Brownie/p/PURE-001018&c=PureBar@Bars

Tammoss…..Add two more glasses a night to your regimen….you can alternate between a decent red for dinner then switch to a dark port for dessert. Skip the actual dessert all together and in the end by the time you pass out, you won’t care.

Yes. I’m joking. I’ll have to leave that one to one of the experts here. Just thought I’d pop in and say good morning to everyone.

I hope this is an acceptable place to ask this question. I’m just starting this program and I was reviewing my menu items and a snack item listed was “health bar”. Can anyone tell me what this is or where I can find info on it? Or perhaps make a substitute suggestion? Thanks!

tammoss: I usually count wine as grape juice. Maybe silence is golden in this case as apensa would say. It may take a little longer to lose weight but so what!

Can anyone give me the scoop on how to add in spirits??? Specifically my 2 glasses of wine at night. I can’t find any info on how to account for my vice …. the one I refuse to give up.

Gee, CHIA, I thought we got winds out here in the desert of Arizona. I hate wind and often I wonder why I am here……..then I look at the desert mountains at sunset….and I know. Well, I hope all works out for you.

Welcome, Birds. At your size, Mr. Bird…..you can do anything you want…..LOL. If I got this program down, you should never feel hungry. You probably need more snacks in between. Just choose the right ones. God only knows, I’m no expert and I cheat a lot. If she has a chance, Ozzie will help you sort through it all.

APENSA – We have only had to collect, or not collect and pay for it ourselves, about 2-3 times. The big one was when 120 mile straight winds blew open our LOCKED front door and rained on the entry way wood floors, picked up a tree from the front corner of our house and took it across the house roof to the back corner of the house and ruined the roof (had to have a new roof), tore down about 7 trees in our yard, electricity and water was off for 5 days, ruining all the food in the frig/freezer, etc. Bob doesn’t like to make the insurance company pay. So he tries to pay if it’s within reason. I agree with you on “peace of mind”. That’s worth a lot to me. I don’t like stress 🙂

hello, we just joined this morning, my wife decided to start me with lunch. after lunch and an afternoon snack, I am starving. I was just wondering if a larger person can have larger portions. I’m 345 pounds, but I’ve been at that same weight for 15 years. My wife wants me to get below 300 pounds. I don’t see being able to get much below 300 pounds though since I am 7 foot tall

CHIA….even worse…..I’ve never had a claim in this house. Been in this house 10 years and in my 36 years in our first home only had two claims. State Farm just loves me…..but hey,…….I get a calendar every year. I love peace of mind and will pay for it any day.

Ozzie…..as usual….thanks for the info.

APENSA & RADISSON: Yes, we will be in a mess for a while — not fun. Will be so glad when all done, and we haven’t even started. Will need to get estimates for all of the work first and most contractors are already busy so will need to be worked into their schedules. Glad though that it’s in the cold weather. Don’t like workers here in Spring and Summer time. Hope it doesn’t last that long. Apensa – if your deductible is $5000, many times damage is less than that so you are paying big bucks for insurance and still have to pick up the expense of repair. BOOOO! 🙂

Hi, ppeddle. Regarding your question about what to drink, try mixing regular or carbonated (“soda”) water with a few squeezes of fresh citrus juice (works best from lemons) and a natural non-caloric or reduced-calorie sweetener such as monk fruit or xylitol. The taste will surprise you!

Hi, Apensa. Mission brand Life Balance Whole Wheat Tortillas contain several processed ingredients, but are still better than white tortillas. I would encourage you to consider something that states 100% whole wheat or sprouted wheat (examples include Ezekiel 4:9, !Tam-x-ico’s!, LaTortilla Factory).
