![]() | APENSA – my e-mail to your wife has just been sent 🙂 |
![]() | apensa: Take care of yourself and Happy Birthday to your better half. I’m sure you will find a way to make up for it next week… Maybe nice flowers, dinner out and a little walk on your knees should help! Best of luck and may the force be with you… |
![]() | This Tuesday past I madethe mistake of going to the doctor for my annual “wellness” check. The very next day I came down with the most severe upper bronchial infections I have ever experienced |
| Yes RADDISON, I can only go upwards…I am sure I can stick with this….thanks for the encouragement mate!!! And I am so thankful that I don’t live where you are…I would have chilblains as well!!! Lol….I would love to visit Canada one day, but not in winter!!! |
![]() | SWG English Muffins are wonderful — so wonderful that last week when I toasted one for my breakfast (a serving is only 1/2 half, 90 calories), I ended up toasting 3 whole muffins 🙁 but they were sure good 🙂 I’m just telling you how good they are, but DON’T DO what I did 🙂 They are also in the freezer sections in the grocery stores. They have seeds in them and are nice and crunching, but also soft. When I first looked for them I asked a manager if he knew where they were and he didn’t know. I finally found them in the freezer by myself. So, if they don’t know, keep searching for yourself 🙂 I like them so much better than the SWG bread that I also found in the same freezer area. These are in a blue box with a siran like wrapping, marked ORGANIC. Six large ones in a box. YUMMY! Makes me want one, but I’m going to try to get started again today. Will spend time today cooking for the coming week as I did when I first started this plan. This makes it a lot easier than cooking before each meal. HAVE A GREAT DAY! 🙂 |
![]() | ppeddle: Yep I still have most of my mind but my memory is shot and its getting worst. My phone is my savior. I don’t use the phone much but I got a software called list and I have all my ingredients in there. I can check and uncheck items from the list without having to retype. Great tool. Changing subject concerning winter lovers I would rather switch than fight. My wife and I are going to Florida in two weeks for a whole month. I hope the snow will be gone when we come back. |
![]() | Seaborngirl: From this point on you can only go upwards. Your all set just stick with it. Thank God you don’t have to deal with snow storms and extreme cold on top of everything else. |
| Okay thanks OZZIE….. |
![]() | Whether soups are similar to stews or casseroles in your case depends on whether you add boullion – that’s where the purines are. Just season them with herbs, spices, and vegetables, and you should be find. |
| OSSIE….thankyou so much for your prompt reply. Well going by your fish list, I am pretty sure it would be sardines causing my problem. I don’t normally eat them, but just now and then I enjoy them on toast. I have them in my meal plan, so have had them a few times over the past few weeks. I don’t eat much bread as it causes problems for me, and I don’t eat cakes and biscuits…unless it is for a birthday or some celebration. I don’t make soups, but wouldn’t that be the same as meat stews or casseroles? I don’t drink alcohol at all. So I will cut out the sardines and see how that goes. RADDISON…there I was telling you the other day I haven’t had gout, and I go and get it the same week (well I assume that is what it is…sounds like your description of it). Ah well, I may be in for a rough trot with all these things coming against me!!! I am hoping as I lose the weight I will lose these complaints as well!!! It will be an interesting day tomorrow!!! Hopefully I can get my false teeth fixed in the next couple of days as well!!! |
![]() | Radisson: I had the same thought, but can’t get anyone to pick it up for me until I see myself. I’ll probably make a trip in the next month or two. I think I found SWG bread in the supermarket earlier today…but I forgot the acronym and didn’t have my cell phone on me. I keep a list of staple foods and ingredients on my cell phone so if I ever discover a new spot I’ll always have my list handy, because my memory just isn’t that great. |
![]() | ppeddle: I mentioned Costco because they have a lots of ingredients that we need here in the recipes like Brown rice, Quinoa, SWG cereals, fresh fruits & veggies, almonds, nuts, Olive oils. Also I was able to find SWG bread which is really hard to find in some areas. I wish you some sunshine this week God knows we need it… Seaborngirl: Two weeks ago I had some Gout issues with my right foot (big toe), then it went away. Last weekend I started to have pain in my left foot (big toe). This time it was really bad, like someone stepping on your toe and deciding to park there. I had to sleep wearing my walking shoes because I could not bear the pain. Having Gout issues is bad enough but having sleep apnea over that is quite a hurdle. I hope your doctors find a way to make life easier for you. |
![]() | Hi, Bev/Seaborn Girl. The types of fish that may raise uric acid in the blood include anchovies, cod, herring, haddock, mackerel, and especially sardines, as well as mussels, scallops, clams, squid, and shrimp. |
| Hi OSSIE… I posted this before and haven’t heard from you, so decided to post it again. Could be because of timings! Lol…. I have a question for you.I have high readings of Uric Acid in my blood tests, and have read up about how to lower them. This is a list of the restrictions. I am assuming I would eat meat as usual, but just stay away from those listed. Restrict foods high in purines – • Organ meats such as liver, kidney, heart Since my previous posting of this I reckon I have actually had mild gout happening in my feet. I won’t be seeing my doctor for another week or so. I am going through my list of foods to see what might be causing it. I have had prawns twice since starting this programme. I often flavour meals with stock cubes, but that would only be once a week. I haven’t eaten yeast extracts for a long time. Can you give me an idea of what else I have to watch for to get this uric acid down? |
| Morning all…well, some are just waking, some are still snoring…softly I hope!!! Haha… A little light rain here today, and hopefully a good storm later!!! Yay!!! I hope there is thunder…I love the thunder…and a bit of lightning to add to the drama would go well too!!! Then we feel like we are having a real wet season!!! I know, I know, some of you don’t like that, but we rely on it here, with all the drama….hehe. RADDISON AND PPEDDLE: I feel for you guys who are in the snow and the amount of work it involves up in Canada…and all the others in America and Britain who have to do the same. I had a penpal in Canada as a kid and she used to tell me about the amount of snow and the work involved and I always wanted to go there, but not when it was that bad!!!! But when you grow up in a place with harsh conditions, you get used to it, and cope with it….just like us with the hot, dry conditions and floods and fires…you just get on with it. CHIA: I hope all is going well for you, and that it won’t take too long to get back to some kind of normality. JACKIE: You keep up the good work love….you are a little gem, and such a motivater!!! Glad to see Angelina is back to normal. To all the newbies, and those who have been crusing here for a while, good to read all the successes, and also the struggles…keeps us grounded. I chose to miss church today, as I was eating my first sausage and a piece of bacon (in 8 weeks?) yesterday at a barbecue lunch by the beautiful local marina…and whaddayano…my front tooth on my top plate snapped off!!!! I am not too vain these days…lol…but I couldn’t cope with not opening my mouth and laughing and smiling!!! Looking so freaky would scare them all off, and give the kids nightmares!!! I remember my childhood and I wouldn’t want to leave that impression on the poor little kids!!! Lol…I am just plain vain when it comes to this stuff!!! I have my appointment with the sleep apnea people in town tomorrow, and I am hoping to sort out this plate before I have to get there…I will have to practice not smiling at everyone again for a few days I guess!!! heheh. So here I am sitting at my puter and watching the storm build up outside….the wind is rising and the sky is darkening…and I still have washing to dry!!! Keep up the good work everyone…such a pleasure to get on here and read everyone’s comments…they are the glue that keeps us from slipping on this ship. Let’s roll with the waves and never lose our footing. Yay!!! I hear thunder rolling across my sky!!! |
