| Hi everyone….just a quick post…lol!!! So your mate is a Pommie Aussie Yankee!!! Lol. Sounds like a lot of fun. FLYMOW….sounds like you are going to be fine if you haven’t had that craving for the brown stuff. It’s amazing when you realise why you were craving something all that time…and it is only because we weren’t shoving enough food in to keep us going!!! Ah well, we are on the mend now!!! APENSA….good to see you up on deck again mate. Hey, just a thought, maybe your wife did something so she couldn’t get any more mail after the onslaught of mail for her belated birthday!!! Lol… JACKIE…yes it is so good to have the window closed…and smiling again with all my might!!! Haha. I did eat a little more of the pie than I should have Jackie…naughty me! But sent the rest to work with Bill today…made lunch easy for him. I think I will do a tuna pasta tonight…not my thing, but Bill loves it and it is something I can eat today. He has become very fussy about food over the past year, so I am thinking he is either going through male menopause (lol), or he has been watching too many cooking shows on TV (watches them every day if he can), and now he thinks he is an expert on food!!! Or it could be one of his tablets mucking up his taste buds!!! I was on antibiotics a few years ago…one after the other…I got the flu really bad one March, and for the next 3 years I was sick with chronic bronchitis…just when I would get over something, another one would hit me. Took a long time for my immune system to sort itself out, and that is one of the reasons I got so tired and put on weight. I have had two good years now. One of the tablets I was on left me with a metallic taste and the worst thing was I couldn’t drink coffee, so ended up finding a lovely Jarrah called French Liason. That was the thing I had to give up when I started on here. I don’t like the flavour of coffee now, so very rarely have one…if I do, it has to be made on milk. All that to say my food is no longer the way to my man’s heart!!! Lol. Good to see the newbies…welcome to you all. Must go again…hope those who are sleeping are having a good night’s sleep…I hope I am going to get a better one tonight!!! Catch up with you all tomorrow. |
![]() | Made a little homemade granola tonight…heated the honey a little (a little too much) to make it a little runny…well, the lid popped off when I retrieved it from the microwave, splashing everywhere! Hair, hand, floor, cupboards, stove, counter top, etc. I hope I got it all cleaned up! I’ve been fighting ants here in Sunny St. George, so I’m sure I’ll have a new troop of them by morning, if I missed something in my clean up! Wish me luck! Bev…my friend is an Aussie! She was born in England, but was raised in Australia from age 2-19. That is when she moved to the USA. She’s one of my very best friends. We can tease each other and get a good laugh out of it! Jackie…did I tell you that I took Italian for 3 years…however, it is in a program called Institute of Continued Learning, and all the classes are taught by volunteers. We had a 2 hour class once a week, so you can’t become very fluent in the language at that pace, and my second year was just a repeat of the first year! But when I was in Rome, I asked for directions (in Italian) to the Botanical Garden, and the fellow understood me well enough to give me directions, I understood him well enough to find the place! I was very excited about it. Other than that, I could only ask for my room key! haha I was able to read most of the signs however, so that really helped me. I love the language, the culture (arts & opera), and the people! I’m back on course with this program, but I must be getting use to the amount of food (of course, I can’t eat as much as they suggest), but I think my splurging over the weekend, has made it harder to stay away from the treats. It’s a good thing the treats left with the company! So I’ll hang in there, and hope all of you can too. Bye for now! |
![]() | Thanks Jackiee and Seaborngirl for welcoming me on board! I had a great day. I didn’t even crave chocolate and that is spectacular for me! I realized that I was NOT eating enough during the day to Zap the cravings. It worked for me. I know i have a long road ahead, but today was good and I feel great! I work for a Food Broker and am in 4 different Wal-Marts and 3 Sam’s Clubs each week. FOOD is ALL around ME! |
![]() | Hi, everyone…….been a while. I’ve really been under the weather…worse than I thought it was going to be. Starting to come around now. Haven’t even given a thought to healthy eating. for over a week. Hope you are all doing fine and having success. For some reason I have not been receiving emails when someone responded to this forum |
![]() | Hi Bev, 😀 so glad you got the window closed…oops sorry meant your smile back 😉 your be getting up soon or maybe your already driving Bill to work, hope he enjoyed his egg and bacon pie…did you have it too? I slowly changing my family to my trimdown menu without telling them 😉 and no grumbles either. Angeline had her wee friend round too and she loved my rice, I mix it with some saffron, served along with basic omelet, and some raw veggies sticks for them and grilled turkey for me and hubby, he even get a little honey glaze, with a sprinkle of Parmesan on his grilled turkey to living it up for him!!! So getting used to giving them my menu stuff now, with little tweaks to keep them happy. My Dad lives near London and thankfully gets over to visit quite a lot during the autumn, winter and spring months…he never comes over in summer (to hot) and my wee one loves when her grandfolks visit…I’ve still not told her their coming Saturday, can’t wait to see her face 🙂 we would love them to come over more often but its tough on my hubby since he doesn’t talk English…which we blether away in while their here. |
![]() | Evening all, hope you are all doing well? Great to see more newbies coming on board…. |
![]() | Hi, I’am a newbie. I live in Northern MN. This is my second week making better food choices. I really wasn’t much of a food eater before, so I can’t eat all the food listed in the menu for each snack or meal. I’am though eating 3 meals and 3 snacks, most of the time. I really need some herbs and spices ideas. Like for fish and steak, which I’m not used to cooking. They are turning out tasting bland. My frozen burrito was bland today, even with salsa on it.(had an apple with it,that helped for a variety) The cheese raviolies taste bland, what could I put on them? What about potatoes? I almost gag everytime I eat during the day cuz I’m not used to eating before 1pm. I’am a smoker and that could have some to do with the food tasting bland. I do enjoy being in the kitchen cooking and eating more. I feel better after I’ve eaten. There are more dishes to do now,but I’am worth it, and so are you. I like planning ahead on meals and grocery shopping. Thank-you for the Menu, it has helped a bunch and a bunch. Keep up the good work everyone! |
![]() | hello everyone ,got a question for you,I like grapes are they allowed on this plan and if so how many in a serving? |
![]() | I am a new member with an enthusiastic feeling to learn how to eat healthy. It is overwhelming to take all this in and find time. What’s the best way to start? I bought some organic foods on the first day but feel I need to check out my local health food store. The recipes call for many ingredients I don’t have or know of. I would like to attempt a simple recipe but which one? |
![]() | 100% fresh-squeezed orange juice is acceptable (1/2 cup is a serving), even though whole fruit is always preferable. |
![]() | Thanks jackiee, everyone who has had hip surgery is very positive. The Passover restrictions: no product with leavening in it. Matzah is the bread replacement, matzah meal is used for filling, pancakes, muffins. We eat lots of eggs because whipped up they give baked goods the lift missing from leavening. To fit our menus anything fresh is OK, so veggies except legumes, which I avoid anyway, fruits, eggs as I said, no rice. Quinoa is allowed. Tea and coffee, freshly opened. Foods labeled Kosher for Passover. For those of you unaware: if it is labeled Kosher for Passover it is freshly produced and the company to use that label has cleaned all its equipment. So even items that aren’t only for Passover are a good buy: like soft drinks, mayonaise, etc. |
![]() | just started the plan ,its says that orange juice in not good for you ,but does that include 100% orange juice |
| I had a call from my husband just as I was commenting before, so had to dash out and pick him up from work! |
![]() | Good morning all, how are you all? MARCIA…Best wishes for a speedy recovery from your hip replacement. I’m sorry I don’t know everything Passover involves for you, but assume you can’t eat certain foods. You can adjust the menu planner by taking off food items you aren’t allowed to eat and add them again at a later day or i…..good luck. FLYMO…Good to see you on board…Good luck with your personal plan….I’m also a confessed choc-a-holic!!! So I just don’t buy it with my weekly groceries anymore, although I do have one bar of 90% dark choc in the fridge for emergencies!!! when I feel I just can’t cope anymore I allow myself to have a little square to nibble. It’s so strong that one wee square hits the spot. Just having the emergency bar there has helped me keep my craving under control…after all it my body now…I’m in control of it not the chocolate bars hehehe!!! I also love the squash omelette, lovely and sweet…oh and roasted squash…I have found that it keeps my sweet tooth happy…. I hope you soon get used to swapping Chocolate for fresh fruit, sweet veggies or nuts, and remember you can have sweet things in moderation, theres lots of yummy muffins ect on the recipe page too, check out what you like and add them to your menu planner. Good luck CHIA..mmmm sounds yummy so glad your mixing it up again and getting to see results on the scales again. NANCY..I know what you mean…enough snow and rain already, Spring needs to get a move on…. I’m sure ready for it to pop in with all the lovely colour, my favourite season. Glad your still getting your wee walks done on the drive at least. KATIE…glad you had such fun with you friend…nothing bets a good old giggle. BEV…Are you ok? or just busy? Apensa…are you feeling any better? Right off to get wee one to Nursery and get on with it. Have a good healthy eating day everyone…. |
| Hello Flymow…welcome to our “Lifestyle Change Cruise”…I understand just how you feel. I was so sick of myself last year I cried out to God to help me because I couldn’t do it myself…I just couldn’t focus on anything….and at the end of December I noticed the Trim Down Club ad on the side of my FB page…I had seen it so many times, and didn’t want to get into the on-line programmes…but that day, I just stared at it, and realised this just could be my answer…get in and look at it I told myself!!! As soon as I did, I knew it was the right place for me. So all the best with it love…you will find lots of encouragement on here. Just ask and someone will give you an answer if they can. |
