![]() | Hi everyone, Chia, A lot of other foods contain iodine: Read more at http://www.healthaliciousness.com/articles/natural-foods-high-in-iodine.php#xdj4tszdR2PzajA8.99 bernie53: Either you chose quail on your menu items or your on the automatic menu. If you don’t want any weird or expensive ingredient to show up you have to complete all of your breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack menu items and you will get more personnalized menu. Since mid-January I have amended my menu over ten times. Also you can tweak your menu by using the arrows after each items i.e. if you don’t want chicken at lunch time look Under the arrows for a replacement ingredient or fruit or vegetable. Don’t forget the free vegetable list either when you are really hungry or when you want to Munch on something. |
![]() | Hi Chia – Your salad sounds good. I love salads and try to be inventive and whilst I haven’t included rice or other grains yet, I do include fruit. One of my favourites is a mixed green salad with nuts and orange segments (no dressing needed). Also love celery and apple, carrots and orange, beetroot and sweet redcurants. I also use salad in sandwhiches and pitta bread (when allowed) and one of my favourite fillings is watercress and avocado – I was scared of using avocado because it is high fat but have checked with Ossie and she says its fine. |
![]() | RADISSON…oops forgot to say well done keeping your bar-b-que area clear of all that snow, that must have burnt off a few calories at least 🙂 |
![]() | Good Morning all, just a quick one!!!! as running late… BEV, I do hope you find a better mask, it must be so draining not getting a full nights sleep. Hope you have a good weekend and enjoy smiling at church on sunday too 😀 Radisson, thanks for all the tips, now I understand why the salt I buy has ‘Sale Marino – Iodato’ but I suppose I’m lucky as I don’t like salty food so only add a little while cooking. Ground pepper and chilli are my preferred additions to food. Sunshine, love the sound of the Morrocan hot lentil soup, will look this up see if I can manage to make it. APENSA…oops sorry, hope you find something to make it, grovelling should work eventually. CHAI, so pleased your back healthy eating 😀 I’ll try your rice salad when my Dads here. KATIE, hope the supplement works for you. I worry about spending so much money on supplements even with a money back guarentee. BERNIE, quail is something I eat, as it is an affordable option here, (italy) I cook it in my soup and then serve it with salad, yum yum. Hope you have something nice thats afforable in your part of the world. Right, I’m even typing while I’m standing now!!!!…..I’m on a mega happy day as my folks arrive tomorrow…I will be posting less when their here..so hope you all have a wonderful weekend…and happy healthy eating for next week too. |
![]() | RADISSON: We don’t eat hardly any fish at home. My husband doesn’t like it except deep fried (baked) shrimp. I do eat canned, water packed tuna though. I like some fish, cod, lobster, crabmeat, shrimp, catfish. I just don’t fix it at home. So, if I would change to using sea salt for everything, how would I get my iodine??? Do you bake with it also and use it for all cooked foods? Do you use the same amount of sea salt in recipes, as regular table salt? |
![]() | CHIA: sea salt is natural product and contains multiple minerals not included in processed salt. Iodine is added because they remove everything else. If you eat fish regularly in your diet you don’t need additional iodine. Seaborngirl: I also have a budget, I want to eat helthy but it has to be reasonable in price. Whenever I make suggestions, the ingredients mentionned are off the shelf at your regular supermarket. On a different subject, I hope you will able to find a better mask for your apnea treatments. It must be really hard to sleep with this predicament. apensa: Sometime I Wonder if your just not being overly dramatic. As an adult you know you are responsible for your own actions. Take your pill and get on with life. Mea Culpa, Mea Culpa… |
![]() | APENSA: I’m sorry! |
![]() | Chia….it is no joke. |

| Haha BERNIE53…No you are not the only one on a budget…I haven’t seen quail on my menu, and if I had I would have laughed my head off!!! Chicken is expensive enough…and fish even though it is caught locally!! We have to catch our own, which doesn’t happen, or get some from our son-in-law which is very fortunate for us. Hope you go well…Bev. |
![]() | does anyone else find it hard to find the food on the list ,I mean how many everyday people can afford quail,Or am i the only one on a budget,i know there are subs. but show of hands who eats quail |
![]() | Apensa: I hope you’re joking. I thought she would appreciate your thoughtfulness 🙂 I know you didn’t plan to get sick from keeping your doctor appt. Who would have thought??? |
| KATIE…what did you purchase. I just can’t afford all the extras, let alone the food! Our tight budget is getting tighter and tighter lately. Let us know how it goes…my metablolism is pretty stubborn too. |
