![]() | Hello everyone; I’ve been on this plan for 5 weeks plus 4 days and have lost 7.8 lb. This is the greatest thing I’ve come across to eating properly and losing weight with great hopes of continuing this until I reach my goal and to be able to maintain that goal once I get there. I have approx. 33.2 more lb. to loose before I get where I need to be. I am thoroughly convinced that this is the way to do it. This is the help I have been looking for for many years as I have tried almost every known diet there is out there. The one time in my life where I reached my goal weight was when I was 27 yr. old ( I’m 62 as of yesterday) and that was because I was taking dance lessons and practicing almost every day and working at a Nursing home 63 hr. work weeks for 6 months or more. Then I got pregnant with my 4th child and gained 70 lb. Crazy huh? Oh well, those were the days of old and gone by. Now to look at the future. Just thought I’d share that with you all. KD |

![]() | OOPS! edpender: See response below concerning orange juice. |
![]() | Hi everyone, The simple way to get the fibre and all the benefits of the orange fruit is to eat it fresh. Even if you press it fresh, you will lose some of the fibre, but this is acceptable and much better than buying juice in the store. |

![]() | I can’t find the free vegetable list? Can someone help me out? Thanks |
![]() | Whoops, that was 50 pounds that I lost not 150. lol |
![]() | Just reporting in…I’ve had a great day! I’ve never been on a program that is this satisfying! I couple of years ago, I did really well on South Beach diet (lost about l50 pounds), but kind of got tired of the foods. There are so many good recipes on here, I don’t think that will be the problem this time. Of that 50, I gained back 15, but now I just am 16 pounds away from my first goal and feeling pretty good about that. My next goal will be 5 more pounds, and my third goal will be 40. I figure start out small and keep encouraged! Good luck to you all. |
![]() | hiya folks, |
![]() | Hi everyone, loved reading all your comments. |
![]() | Hi – I am new to this diet also and not good at following exact diets, but have gone out to grocery shop & buy food I’ve never had before, like papaya & coconut milk to make a shake that is not green. can’t begin to see myself drinking green shakes. Trying to be conscious of what I eat; eating out occasionally is a treat to myself, so putting that in mind also to be more diligent there. Watched Dr Oz today and one of the topics was on the Super Grains: 1) Quino – which I’d never heard of until this diet but did see at my local Kroger’s (seems they are adding more items I never thought to look for before) 2) Teff which doesn’t dissolve fast like reg carbs but has a natural sweeter taste; has wraps also in this 3) Millet which he loves, so you can boil & put in food processor & eat in place of potatoes 4)Kamut – this one he & nutritionist both praised a lot, gives higher energy & is higher in omega 3 – to use in place of pasta, can make in pancakes or like a pilaf and add vegies, etc – good for brain and to decrease inflammation. 5) Buckwheat hulled whole grain, not really a wheat, related to rhubarb, decreases cholesterol and varicose veins; Kasha is like toasted Buckwheat, can boil & add vegies. Stated that just because package says whole grain it is sometimes not, such as bran and wheat germ. For breads whole wheat is better than multigrains for fiber. There should be a stamp on 100% whole grain products, look for it – not see, check ingredients and first thing should say whole grain. And all B G cereals are whole grain. That last grain business has always befuddled me, so I appreciated that mention in show – however, I did go to store and buy Sprouted Wheat Grain bread the other day, seems my daughter served me that for over a week when I visited her. I am trying not to just follow a diet but incorporate better nutrition in life, lose weight, and must start exercise daily at least 15 mins at first and increase that. I have osteoarthritis and some herniated discs, but would get around easier if I manage to develop a better lifestyle overall. When I was young never had to worry about that – now, in the “golden years” I do, should have started much earlier! But I think it is being discussed much more now. Wonder if younger people are listening? |
![]() | Hi, The marketing material stated that orange juice from concetrate was no good, that it is like sugar water. I have gone to the grocery store and EVERY orange juice, including fresh squezzed, has the same number of calories, and the same number grams of sugar. So what is the difference between the two, besides that concentrate is half the cost? Thanks! |
![]() | Ossie: I drink coffee through out the day, but I noticed it’s only on my menu once. I don’t use creamer or sugar and drink a half a pot. Is that bad for me? stgeofun: way to go on the excercise!! I never know if I’m spelling that word right. LOL. I will try the Fish Curry recipe. Thanks. |
![]() | Hello everyone, I have not been online for a couple of days. Been sick UTI and a wicked bad cold. Thank goodness for chicken soup recipe. I love it added a little spinach and carrots delicious. I need someone’s advice I am trying to eat better the recipes aren’t bad I pack and freeze excess for work but I am not sure which butter to use? I to date can’t find the raw butter?? Really been cooking with different flours and love the cheezy quiche not big on goat cheese will have to change that next time around. I have many leftovers packed away of that stuff. Also made the pumpkin cookies the recipe shows way different than actual but pretty good. My husband will not eat my good foods he is still with regular I try but he says he can’t tries some of my soups and does not like them. I can’t get over how I don’t miss the sugar in my new eating plan, seriously I don’t even miss it.
