| | Hi, GinnerLou. For muffins, can use all of those flours if they are in combination in the proper proportieons. Quinoa is the closest to wheat flour, rice flour is the lightest with the least structure, coconut requires more moisture, but if used together in equal proportions with a small fraction being bran and an extra 1/4 cup liquid or whole egg for every 1/4 cup of coconut flour, you should be fine. |
| | Hello everyone. It is afternoon here in good old Texas. The kids just got from school, and we had a snack of tuna and sliced apples. I have drunk six out of my 10 8oz glasses. As for everyone else. Just hang in there and keep up the great work. Have a great rest of the day, and Happy Healthy Eating. I missed you all and its great to read all of the comments. |
| | Hi, BM38. Hopefully you are getting regular check-ups and care from a healthcare professional for your lipid issues. I’m sorry to say, but with your level of triglycerides, fruits are not your friend, other than those thought of as vegetables, such as zucchini. In the zucchini family are the sweet fruits with the lowest sugar content – melons; other sweet fruits in the low-medium sugar range include fresh berries and pomegranate. If you really love fruit, try eating just 1/2 portions twice per day instead of whole, and never juice. |
| | Hello everyone , I’m new to all this . I am a nurse in a hospital in my area. I work with a lot of the elderly. I’ve been crushed lately cause my pts. Think I’m pregnant. My youngest is 2. So if anyone can help I appreciate it. I’m also very concernd with my cholesterol it is 443 but triglyceride s are 1692. So I really need this to work. |
| | Ossie, Any chance you can give us a run down on King Arthur Whole Wheat flour. My wife bought some for a banana bread recipe she ran into. I used it last night as a flour coating for some chicken breasts I sauted in Olive Oil and butter. I read the package and it appears that all they do is grind the wheat and package it. anna: Definitely. Give the goat cheese a try. I’m sure that my experiencing a lack of taste is because since I had that cold/bronchial infection….what ever it was, I don’t taste a darn thing. Everything taste, or doesn’t taste, the same. I can barely pick up distinctive odors. Everything I have read indicates that it will pass……I hope so. |
| | Hello to you all. Its great to read all the post. Seaborngirl, thank you. Dorothea310, You go girl. We are counting on you to represent. I am so happy to see how well everyone has been doing. To day has been my second day back on board with the rest of the passengers. I was abele to drink all of the water I needed to and checked them off one by one. I just get so exited when I check of the items off of my menu. It gives me a visual of how well I am doing. |
| | Ossie, I am wanting to make bran muffins from scratch and have quinoa, brown rice, coconut flours and bran. I just don’t know which flours to use with the bran to make them. Still unsure which flours to use where when baking. Thanks for your help. Loving my new way of healthy eating! |
| | Stageofun: that goat cheese does not seem to have much flavor as compared to other cheeses. Do you find that? Anybody: have any of you had a bout where you cannot really taste anything? Since I had that upper respiratory infection last month, I have noticed that I can’t taste anything. I can sense spicyness, saltiness and a little bit of some foods, but I really don’t taste anything. My coffee tastes like hot water with “something” else, I can taste wheat bread….sort of. Gees, don’t tell me that is the next thing to go as I age. Pretty soon I’m going to have to go back to the Vodka…..LOL. |
| | Morning everyone…well from Queensland anyway…Lol. |
| | Apensa, I was the one to suggest SWG toast with goat cheese. I’m glad you like it! It’s one of my favorite treats. We just have to deal with the packaging of the cheese! lol I actually squeeze it all out of the package into a plastic container with a lid and store it in my fridge. It’s much less messy that way. Luckylady…your kale treat sounds worth trying. I’ll have to do that when I return from vacation. I’m leaving tonight for 10 days. I’m going to Atlanta, GA, Hilton Head, SC, Beufort, SC, and Savannah, GA. It’s a nice part of the USA. BTW, I didn’t think my questions from Ossie were being answered either. I think you just have to go back far enough to find them. Good luck! Seaborn…I’ll be thinking of you as I look out over the Atlantic Ocean. Looking forward to seeing the dolphins and shore birds. Everyone keep motivated…I want to hear good reports when I return! |
| | Got a delicious snack-kale crisps. |
| | Say, has anyone found a “non-messy” way to handle goat cheese? Mine came vacuum packed and a lot of the cheese stuck to the wrapper where I had to scrape it off of the wrapping. Whomever mentioned the other day that they had a snack of SWG bread spread with goat cheese….Thank you. Not bad and quick……………..once you get it off the wrapper…LOL. Another question. How many of us have actually read the Ezeceil SWG bread wrapper? I did not realize that our Ezeceil was the same guy I ran across in the Old Testiment. |
| | hers’s luck to you Dorethea |
| | Go get ’em, Dorothea! Good Luck. That is a great idea you had of getting that started at work. A little competition might be just the trick to give everyone a boost. |
| | Hello Everyone, I am starting the BIGGEST LOSSER at my workplace and I am very excited. I have been with the Trim Down Club for about two months and just by adjustments in the way I a eating and the things I am eating, I already see some progress. Dorothea |
