Hi, Apensa. Yes, NaCl is still NaCl. Some types claim to contain more minerals than others (i.e. Himalaya), but still the majority is NaCl.
Other than the sodium free herb blends suggested by Marcia below, there are salt substitutes such as Morton’s (all potassium instead of sodium, with some bitter aftertaste) or “light” type salts, which are half-and-half, or a mixture of other minerals important to cardiac health, such as Cardia.

APENSA….I knew I had something to say to you…Yes mate, I too have been getting all those things about tea and the amazing things that will help us lose weight etc! Just a whole lot more junk in our system!!! I agree there are some good points made amongst it all, but I have never been one to look a second time at something (or someone for that matter) that is painted to be the answer to all my problems….maybe I should sometimes, but I can’t see the point in it. I am fine without all their gimmicks! We all are! Losing weight and feeling better has always been about eating right and getting the right amount of exercise! If people want to try these things and it works, well that is great. But not for me! If it is extreme, I don’t go there…..So many groups are taking advantage of cyberspace, trying to con us all into thinking they have the right product for us, and that we need their product to make us feel better, look better, and younger, etc….it’s is a money racket and I ain’t spending my cash on something that might turn out a lemon!!! Lol….I only hope if others have tried the stuff, it has worked!!! Cheers mate.

Morning cruisers….thought I better sit here for a tic and chat to you all!!! Read through all the comments earlier, and went back to bed to see if I could catch some more zzzz’s…I think I got a few, which is great, but the phone rang and I flew off the bed in shock..well, you guys would know how that leaves you!!! Lol…every little nerve-ending goes into shock!!! Lol….
MARCIA….good that your op is over and done with…I guess things will only get better now, once you can start the program all over again…all the best!
ANNA…good to see you on board again love….hope you get more of those restful nights, and you can hide that walker and the arthritis meds in a dark cupboard somewhere mate.
JACKIE….I am glad you are getting those headaches sorted love…and now the cankles!!! I am sure that will be a fluid build-up. I get that from doing too much on my sore foot. I haven’t been out walking lately…I should but I am probably being over-cautious so I don’t get any tireder!!! I am getting better nights with this mask, but still very tired….just sick of being like it! And sick of not bouncing all over the town like I normally am….and poor old Bill has to put up with “grumpy Bev”…not good. This week I will be changing to a little nasal mask…hopefully, that will be even better than this little one.
We have had Rani’s 35th birthday over the weekend….ate pizzas, and a little slice of cake, a gorgeous chocolate “Drumstick” icecream (I am sure you all will know them if you see them, but will have different names in different counties. In NZ they called them “Trumpets”, which was very confusing for them and us when we tried to buy them the first time…Bill asked for nine as we all waited in the nice warm van….and the shop assistant went and got him a bag of frozen “chicken legs”…he took so long the kids and I joined him inside, to find all this confusion. The kids found them for them….and they thought we were crazy Aussies!!! It was a great laugh from all..lol..). Anyway, with all that bad stuff, I have actually lost some today! As they say, it is nice to be naughty…sometimes!!! Lol.
HOLIDAYMAKERS – KATIE, RADDISON…hope you are having a fantastic time!
PPEDDLE…has the snow dissapppeard yet?
Well, must be off…got some work to do…going to paint a bedroom this weekend, so got a clean up to do first!
Gonna love you and leave you all….see you on deck later…Bev.

Thanks Anna. My appetite today Palm Sunday is better. I saw someone was using garlic salt. Better not to add salt much at all. Use Mrs. Dash in all her forms, many flavors No Salt.you like garlic, use garlic powder.

Ossie, or anyone: Can you tell me where I would find a rundown on the different salts and which, if there is any difference, is the best……..salt, sea salt, kosher salt, epsom salt….just kidding. I can’t seem to find my answer in the publications. It seems to me that salt…..NaCl…is NaCl…..isn’t it?

Thanks, Ossie. Took me a while to get back on line…..been to Vegas, but I was pretty good regarding the eating. Regarding King Arthur Flour….looks good. It says “premium” and the only ingredient is Red Whole Wheat. http://www.kingarthurflour.com

Hi everyone, well not much new for me still on the healthy eating. I have also finished my hard craft working week of cleaning windows and shutters in a very big new house (along with eveything else). BEV, I thought I’d see some big change in weight with all the sweating but was so disappointed when I done a weigh in. I have gained 2 kilos, and my body still aches plus my ankles have swollen up, oh the joys. My headaches have been getting better and then worse again all week so a wee visit to the doctors tomorrow 🙁 it gets me down because they don’t have appointments so you just go and wait which is usually over 2 hours, then I have to try and translate my problems into Italian…ha ha not easy for me. But the headaches and ankles need seeing and can’t put it of anymore.
Great to see you back on and so positive ANNA. 🙂
MARCIA, hope your feeling better, it won’t be long to your back in the swing of things but in the mean time you take it real easy.
APENSA, just been reading back old post and forgot to say I also thought it was strange getting emails from TRIM DOWN promoting slimming pills when this is a healthy eating plan, but everyone to their own and at least it gave a full money back guarantee if you bought the pills and didn’t find them helpful. Have you noticed an increase in weight loss KATIE, as I think you said you were trying them out.
BEV, hope you had a good weekend with your family, are you managing any walking or have you put exercise on hold for a bit?
RADISSON..hope your enjoying your holiday in Florida, walks in the sun.
GINNERLOU..what flour did you use for the muffins. How did they turn out?
I can only find kamut flour or rice flour here. So if anyone know which recipes have these please could you let me know. Last week I came across a health shop in town, it’s been there longer than I have so was shocked I’ve never seen it before. It had Kamut crossiants but with the weight gain, I gave that a miss and just got whole grain bread…still not sure if its SWG, but they told me it’s 100% whole grain which is better than nothing. It was fun looking round the shop because I’m sure a lot of the stuff is on our food list, just need to take some time to look at the menu again and translate the items before I go shopping again.
Well till next time. take care &..happy healthy eating all

Hello Ginnerlou. So good to see your face. I hope the muffins came out good. I hope you let us all know how they came out. Take care, and I am looking forward you your future posts.

Marcia, Wow. That’s some news. I hope you are recovering well, and I know you will do great when you get home. I am so happy to hear how you are ready to get back into the swing of this program.
Much like you, I just couldn’t wait to get my feet wet again. My body can tell the difference. I don’t need any pain meds for my arthritis when I am on this program and doing well. For the while that I was off of it, the pain was more intense. The good part about it all, is that I still do not need to use my walker again.
Keep up the great work and stay motivated. I admire your commitment.

Goooooood Mooooooorning Life. Hello to each and everyone of you. Hey. Just to let everyone know, just in case you don’t know. I am not a coach but a customer like everyone else. How ever, if there is something I can help you with I try my best. I am so happy to report, that I had a great nights sleep last night. This is big news for me, because I am a really bad insomniac. The better news is that I am up, awake, and quite refreshed. I have started my day with a great and healthy breakfast. I am looking forward to eating good for the rest of my life. Have a great Day everyone, and or a great night. Happy Healthy Eating Everyone.

I am just piping in. Had my L hip replacement surgery on Tues 3/19. I am at at a rehab facility for a week or so. I was so pleased with my progress on our program but hospital stay and now rehab have played havoc. I am not going to quit.when I get home I will begin again. My weight was down before and when they weighed me in at the rehab I was 10 pounds up! I need to know how much the new hips weighs plus they tell me water retention and swelling are there too.to add to everything I have NO appetite. So I will begin again.

Hi, Apensa. Many of those flours contain refined flours, but they do have “100% Whole Wheat” flours that fit within the principles of this program – “premium” and “organic” (the “white” is not recommended), as do the “Gluten-Free Whole Grain Flour Blend” and brown rice flour.

Any chance you can give us a run down on King Arthur Whole Wheat flour. My wife bought some for a banana bread recipe she ran into. I used it last night as a flour coating for some chicken breasts I sauted in Olive Oil and butter. I read the package and it appears that all they do is grind the wheat and package it.
