Ohhhhhh, Seaborn…..what a temptress you are…….Sour Chream and chive potato chips…..Yummmm!!! You know, there was a cook back when I was in the army. He made a super cottege cheese salad just using cottage cheese, onions and coursly ground black pepper. I’ll bet if you choose the right cottege cheese, this would make a terrific snack…………..IF, you like onions. Now I’m made myself hungry……good, it is dinner time.

JACKIE…what a pickle you got yourself into! Good on you for turning into a positive for yourself! As I read your account, I had a comedy running through my mind…hahaha…it reminds me of something from one of the Pommie comedies we have seen…but you are in it!!! Lol…..hahahhah…
Bill and I have just finished painting the bedroom and now waiting for the door to dry so we can do another coat on that. Moving our bedroom furniture into the newly painted room, and as our room is larger and we can fit a single in with the queen, we are using that for the guest room. Then I am going to start on the trims…a bit of filling to do as the dry weather has caused cracks over the years! I will just go around the house at my pace, then we can start on another room. I have pulled the spare queen bed apart, and am going to sand it next, and paint it white. So big day today…the kids and Rani are going to stay the night, so the mattresses will be on the floor for them all! I feel like I am getting somewhere again!!!
Sleeping much better now Jackie…starting to pick up! Just hoping I don’t come down with anything this winter…it will knock me for a sixer!!!
Gotta go…work is calling me…BEV! BEV! C’Mon!!!!! Hehehe….Cheers.

Crikey Olive…don’t give in to self-pity!!! That is the enemy!!! We have been backing eachother up on here since the beginning of the year….and we are trying to back you up as well! We are right behind you! Apensa is right….try some free foods….that is what I have to do it too. I hate them….I would rather sit down and munch on a packet of Sour Cream and Chives potato chips, but I need to get the weight off my joints! It is killing me, and I will be in an early grave and miss out on too much if I don’t get it off. Let these people help you love. It is so easy to give in to hopelessness….doing this is very tough! But it will only work if YOU keep up your part and I keep it up my part, and part of that is pushing eachother….c’mon mate….join me and the rest in this battle.
Love Bev.

Hey, don’t make yourself miserable Olive. Try some less damaging food at night if you have to nibble. How about cucumber sticks or celery or even some goat cheese on SWG bread. A small handful of almonds stretched out while watching TV or whatever you do at night. Maybe a salad with Olive Oil and vinegar…..just try to stay away from the sweets, Ice cream….high cal stuff.

Am I ok with this advice, Ossie?

Thanks for trying to help. I tried eating more protein early in the day but I can’t get a handle on the night binging. I’m giving up

Evening all, good to see you on board cindy, thanks for the tip on migraines will mention that when I have my neurologist appointment. I’m trying to find out why I’ve been suffering headaches for a few years now.
Well I never managed skipping today as talked myself into dog walking indefinitely!!! wasn’t expecting that today but when I dropped of Angelina on the bus I heard a Italian woman shouting…not sure what, as it was in dialect but couldn’t help asking if she was ok..she was in despair ranting about people feeding this wee dog who is sort of abandoned, well not exactly abandoned as the old lady died and he hubby was in long stay hospital care but he has now been taken home to his nephew house (over an hour away) so the little dog has been left tided up at the side of the house….everyone seems to be feeding it all sorts, the lady was in despair because the dog is over eating and no-one is helping to sort it out and she can’t as he hubby is starting chemo today!!!. After working out what she was shouting and crying about I offered to take the dog for a walk and told her not to worry any more. When I come back the lady had put a notice up saying don’t feed the dog anymore and if they want to help walk it, I’m now in charge of feeding the dog and will be walking it every day (2-3times) so yip I’m back walking again, well walking and running, only now I haven’t any excuse to put it off, since a wee dog is relying on me…Oh I’m also the talk of the village as the lady has written I will feed it and if people want to help, they can help with food by leaving money in the wee village shop towards dog food. Everyone is saying no one will give money blah blah and talking and talking about the poor dog and how good I am….arghhh I am only trying to help not cause another debate, that will last for weeks on end, knowing the locals. But I’ll leave them to it, as I did tried to explain to so many of them today when they approached me…, me and the dog are helping each other really. So fingers crossed all the extra walking and running will help me lose more weight.
Have a great weekend everyone.

Good Morning Everyone, I am new to this site. I went gluten free due to migraine headaches about 18 months ago and have lost over 50 pounds. I found this site as I was looking for some juicing recipes. I was so happy to find a Gluten free option with new ideas. Looking forward to the journey with you all

Now you have me……I keep thinking about what would be the last thing I want to see…………….but i’m a guy….LOL

Jackie…good to see you again, and thanks apensa for the grand children remark. I watched a documentary the other day about 2 young men who were going blind, and they asked the question, “If you were going blind, what would be the last thing you’d want to see?” My immediate reply was my grand children! 🙂 Yes, they are worth the couple of extra pounds. lol

I hopped on here to share one of my favorite recipes for those who are looking for a different take on fresh fruit.

Cut up an apple in bite size pieces, then a banana, a pear, and add some raisins and sliced almonds. Sprinkle with less than a teaspoon of stevia syrup and mix. I put about a half cup of the mixed fruit in a cute little dessert dish and enjoy! Save the rest for another time. Hope you like it!
I’m feeling motivated today, hope the same for the rest of you!
Good Luck!

Stage……visiting grandkids is a GREAT excuse for going off the wagon!!! LOL

stgeofun 12 years ago

I enjoyed reading everyones comments. The last couple of weeks have been a challenge for me, traveling for 10 days, and having family visit for 6. But I think I’m ready to settle down again and stick to the program a little better. I made pretty good choices of food during this time, but occasionally I went off the wagon with cookies and snacks that my grandkids insisted on having! lol I put two of the seven pounds back on, but I also have slowed down on my water intake, so I think some of it could be water retention.
Good luck to everyone!
