Just tried another recipe…Greens & Beans Enchilladas. I substituted SWG wraps for brown rice tortillias and my neighbor gave me a huge bag of Swiss chard, so I used that instead of collard greens, but it turned out pretty good. It’s the first corn that I’ve eaten since joining in January. I have to admit, it tasted pretty good. Recipes are really time consuming, but when you have a little extra time, I suggest you make some of these recipes. It makes so much you can freeze them and then won’t have to go through all the work again.

Whoops….I meant inches not pounds! lol

Hey,
Just got back from the gyn and decided to take my measurements today. It has been two months since I took them last and I am happy to report that I have lost 4 1/2 pounds. One of those was on my waist and two more were my middrif, so I am very pleased. It’s funny though, I suspected to lose it in my hips because my slacks are fitting me so much better, but I’m still the same there. I still am very pleased though! Keep working at this, it is working!

horselover….the pancake recipe is one TDC’s, it’s called coco banana pancakes. I really like them, they are like eating banana bread! lol I do prefer oat flour to rice flour, which Ossie says is ok. I usually have strawberries on top, I prefer that to syrup, however, today I did use a sugar free syrup that has xylotol as the sweetner. I have not been able to find a syrup sweetened with stevia, which is a better choice. I think I could probably order it online, but have not tried. I think stevia is pretty sweet, so I usually cut the amount when using it, however, in this recipe, I use the full amount. Try them, I hope you enjoy them!

Jackie…what part of Italy do you live? I have been to that country four times and love it and the people! My favorite place in the whole world, so far, is Positanno, but I loved Asissi in Tuscany too. This is such a great time of year to be in Italy. Enjoy your good weather, wish I was there!

I have really been converted to this program. I get a little tired of vegetable salads but if I take the effort to make the recipes, it keeps it more interesting and the variety keeps me on the program. I was with the youth of our church on Saturday from 9:30 AM until 9:00 PM, and of course, our meals were not TDC approved! lol And although I ate some forbidden foods, what was interesting was that they didn’t even taste as good as I had remembered them. I use to love donuts and cookies, and they just simply did not taste very good. I’m really liking the whole grains and fresh foods. I took a few Cuties (small oranges that have a wonderful taste and are juicy) and some almonds for my in between meals snacks, and I thought they were much better than the junk foods!

I have a niece who eats really healthy, however, she still uses small amounts of sugar and wheat products, but at our last family gathering I was observing her kids, and their choices at the buffet were the cucumbers and other veggies! I think this is the answer to the obesitly problem that is taking over America. Raise the kids on healthy foods so that they naturally choose them over the junk foods!

Anyway, glad to see that all of you are doing well and following this program. I enjoy hearing about your success stories, it helps me keep motivated.

Apensa, I still think you should try Ezekiel Bread again, and toast it this time. I really like the crunchy tecture. Today I made a little tuna fish sandwich on it, and thought it was delicious. But then maybe that’s just me. I do like it in recipes that call for bread crumbs too, like the green bean recipe they have on here! And of course, my favorite still is the soft goat cheese, but a little peanut butter on it is really good too.

I think I need to get back to following the portion sizes a little better than I’ve been doing, because I have noticed that I am not sleeping as well, again. it is now 3;30 AM while I am writing this! lol I haven’t been eating as much, and I think I wake up a little bit hungry. I’m going to try following the program a little more closely this week. I have some of the pressures off of me that have kind of distracted me this past couple of weeks, So wish me luck! And good luck to all of you too. Let’s keep each other encouraged!

Bye for now!

Hi, horselover. When you go through the Menu Planner, note that the recipes are the items with a covered plate symbol – choose the minimum amount you want each week. Then as you click on “Finish,” you will be asked if you want a few or many recipes.

Hi, Horselover. Congratulations on your progress so far! You sound like you are on the right track. It is normal after a dramatic weight loss to have a lull, and that is OK. Your body may simply be adjusting to the new way of eating – especially if you have been on more restrictive diets before.
We do recommend you follow the menus for a while so that the patterns (incluing the food combinations) can become second nature.
As for the recipes, try making smaller amounts so they don’t take over your week – scroll down to the bottom of the screen when your weekly menu appears, and you will see a link to a Club article about right-sizing food recipes. Note that you can select fewer receipes as you go through the application and/or request that fewer recipes be aded to your week.
Hopefully this information helps, and if not, please do repost here.

Radisson…..

Welcome back. You are doing exactly what I have been doing. I read the labels and eat sensibly. I am really happy with the Aspen Valley bread. Only place I can find it is at COSTCO but we go to Vegas enough to stop by there and pick up a couple of loaves. Costco is really starting to carry a lot of “organic” and items that fit right in to TDC guidelines.

I still fall off the wagon now and then….like today. We went on a raft trip (not whitewater) down the Colorado River. they served lunch…..a turkey wrap, Sun Chips, an apple and two raisin/oatmeal cookies……Have no idea what they used but it was OK with me. And, tomorrow, we have guests coming to stay. Will take them out to dinner……much easier……will try and again, eat sensible, pass on dessert and just have water. I’ll fight the urge to order a before meal Bloody Mary…….LOL. I’ve lost several pounds and a little bit of belly fat, but still there.

HORSELOVER,under the APPS, your find a MENU HISTORY APP (the last one), this gives a list of all the menus you’ve generated. I’m sure you can swap items with recipes you like, but your potion size is very important so I’d keep that im mind. I haven’t tried many recipes but when I do I tend to use ingredients that can be swap using my re-fresh button beside the food item (that even works with past menus – on the menu history apps), if I need ingrediants that are say dairy then I cut out some dairy from my breakfast to add to my lunch. I just try to make sure I get most my cards by lunch time and have protien with veggies in the evening. Fruit or nuts for snacks are my options. I can wait for the next few weeks to arrive as the cherry trees will be ready for picking so my fav fruit will be on my snack list soon :-), hope this helps, if not OSSIE will help with advice when she see your post. Good luck
