Hi everyone,

We hosted a 16 people BBQ at our place for Mothers day. Lots of all dressed burgers, Jumbo hot dogs, mild white cheese, lots of vegies combinations. Enjoyed my red wine! At least I did not have beer. We are allowed to go astray once in awhile. So I hope everyone enjoyed mothers day.

Hi all, hope your all well. Thanks APENSA, I had a lovely Mother’s Day here. Good luck with making the right choices when eating out, with your vast knowledge I’m sure your do good.
Horselover, to up load a photo click on your name up in the right hand corner it takes you to your edit profile page, then click again on the part where a picture would go, this takes you to the page for up-loading a picture, if it does work directly on that page, you could upload a picture on the Gravator site and it will add on here too, good luck and hope to see you soon.
JIJ3808, just wanted to say nearly everyone that joins Trimdown says its to much food, but it does seem to work. When you say everyday you go on there seems more food, do you mean more quantity or different menus? When you check the next day for your menu, do you generate a new weekly menu on the apps page or scroll down to the menu history app and open your weekly menu planner there? just saying because for the first week I didn’t notice the menu history app which holds all weekly menus you generated, rather than making a new one each day. Remember give Ossie an account of your details and menu history and she’ll keep you on track, any other problems with negotiating the site just add another post and someone will always help you out. Oh and good luck on your personal plan.
Take care all.

Hi Ossie
thanks for advice. I am due for a bone-marrow test soon and after I get results I’ll discuss with my GP alternative routes – she seems pretty open minded.

Meantime I’ll tuck into my newly grown herbs, I’m intolerant to garlic but seem OK with chives – not quite the same but I think they are quite healthy.

I’ve never tried shiitake mushrooms but will try them. Also, I’d never heard of chia but will see if local health shops stocks it. I do use quite a bit of olive oil (I don’t use any other oil. I try and eat a range of different coloured fruit and veg, but sometimes feel too tired to cook and a bit too inclined not to make an effort – will try and do better!

I am slowly increasing my protein intake as I do think over the years I haven’t kept this in focus – especially as I cut out cheese a year or so ago because I have high cholestrol. I do have milk substitute, mainly Alpro soya milk. I’d prefer almond milk but can’t find it locally.

Once again, thanks to you and others for help.

Hi, jij3808, and welcome! This program does provide more food that diet programs. However, if you are noticing a daily increase in food, that may be something worth checking.
Can you post a sample day with the maximum food amount, along with your gender, height, and weight? I’ll check it out for you.

Hello, I just join today. I filled out the form for my menus. However there seems to be too much food on the menu daily. Also the menu keeps coming up the next day with more food added to it . Can any one give me some help. I watched the video and read the instructions and I have clear the program and did it twice.

Yeah Katie, I love Spring, not sure about the summer heat but summer fruit is yum yum. Spring is my favorite, as all the different veg appear on the market, had articokes tonight with fava beans but will try adding some garlic next time to spruce it up a bit as it was a bit bland. I still can’t find SWG bread here but love the whole grain bread and cereal rolls and with all the different tomatoes. Oh I love my meals just now, oh and the cherry trees are so near ready to burst, mmm mmm, wil have to remember portion sizes with all this tasty fruit and veg about 🙂

Our local farmer’s market opened up again for the season today! I love buying fresh cheese at the market. I bought a really yummy green onion goat cheese! It’s very tasty on my SWG bread! I also bought a fresh English cucumber…don’t you just love spring and summer?

Hi, Slimasharon. I see folks are looking out for you here, and you’re getting some good input. My 2 cents: if your GP is puzzled and you like alternative routes, I would suggest to consider a licensed alternative practitioner, specifially a Chinese medicine type professional approved by your HMO.
In the meantime, take advantage of herbs and spices, i.e. fresh garlic, and foods that are popular for similar uses, i.e. shiitake mushrooms (these even have some good quality protein). Other good protein sources at these times include nuts (especially almonds), and be sure to get plenty of good fats i.e. chia, flax, extra-virgin olive oil. Since vitamins A and D may be critical here, and you are not taking a multivitamin/mineral, be sure to get in plenty of brightly colored (yellow, orange) fruits and vegetables, as well as dark green leafy vegetables; and if you use vegetarian milk, ones that are fortified with vitamin D.
