I am going out of town on business this coming Thursday, 6 Feb. I was hoping to start this so that I can make good choices while away. I typically overeat when I travel and would like to start this during that time. Are there a list of foods that I can choose from rather than recipes to prepare?

Hi, 1slpers. Absolutely! Note that you can also use tahini and other nut and seed butters, as well as vegan sour cream and cream spreads, in the same amounts.

I will be starting this coming Monday. I was looking at the Free spreads and note a lot of dairy items. Can Vegenaise be used instead of mayo?

Hi, sammathews. The keto diet has menus that feature three main meals plus a snack, which you can have whenever you want. You can generate keto menus by selecting “keto” in the “Dietary Needs” section of your profile (in the lower right area), then generating a menu.

I want to try the Keto diet. Does it have menus like the regular diet? How do I access it?

Hi, Kathyc0429. Peanut butter is definitely “allowed” – we do encourage the all-natural type, without added hydrogenated fats, sugar, or salt. Note that reading labels does become significantly quicker and easier with practice. For an environment more likely to offer better products, try a health-oriented store like Whole Foods Market or Trader Joe’s.

Is there any list of people’s favorite whole grain products and cereals.
Reading all the boxes in the grocery store is a bit overwhelming.
Also a peanut butter that fits plan?

Hi, Caryl. That’s actually a great result – slow loss is more likely to continue and been permanent. Are you physically active?

Hi, Angie1973. You absolutely can steam vegetables. As for the nuts and seeds, you can try their butters.

I just finished week 8 of this diet and I only have lost 6 pounds. I am frustrated and have followed this program pretty well. I realize the holidays played into the 8 week program so maybe that is the answer. I do not want to quit another eating programs because of lack of success. Help!!!!!

I have issues with my teeth and eating nuts or raw veggies are a problem. Can I cook the veggies that are for snacks and can I substitute the nuts for something else?

Hi, raneyg. Using your Monday breakfast as an example, if you were to use the regular menu planner, you would see that you are allotted 2 carb exchanges, 1 protein exchange, 1 fat exchange, and 1 fruit exchange. You could then convert these to 3 fat exchanges plus 1 each protein and low-carbohydrate fruit or vegetable exchange. A breakfast with these exchanges would be An egg cooked in 1-2 teaspoons of oil plus a cup of raspberries with 1 tablespoon of whipping cream, whipped with Stevia or erythritol.

I am following the 8 week plan. How do I see next weeks menu so I can prep? I have just added one in the menu section by clicking the plus sign…is that what I do or does the next menu appear some where?
