Hi, CaseyGirl. Fruits are a “carb,” but in a different group compared to starches like cereal and rice, so it is preferred that you do not swap them unless you have plenty of fruits and vegetables elsewhere in your day.
Regarding exchange lists, we will be publishing these in the near future. In the meantime, you can click on “View Exchanges” to the right of your menu to get an idea.
As far as searching your posts: if you ask a question, when someone gets back to you, you receive an e-mail message with a link.

Is there a way I can keep track of my posts so I can look for the response? I posted something earlier and now I cannot find it.

Sharon,
I see you make mention to Danger about fruits being a carb and being able to swap it for bread or half a cup of cerial or rice. Where can I find a list of exchanges and how many exchanges I should be getting for each meal and snack?

I’m new here too. So far I like what I see. I just started a group for folks with diverticulitis. I hope more will join. I also joined the gluten free group.

Hi, Speelya1. Sprouted flour is not something generally sold in stores, but rather online. If you are in the US, here are a couple of sources for you:
1. http://www.organicsproutedflour.net/onlinestore.html
2. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=sprouted+flour

Hi, Speelya1. Where do you live?

Hello all, Yeah I’m new, looking to trying a few things such as Making some Sprouted Whole grain flour Bread, just because I’m not afraid to bake, it does not look to foreign and would spread over more than one meal. but no luck finding this flour at local country store. so any suggestions what stores might carry such a thing?

I know what you mean, tstands, I never enjoyed cooking….just loved to bake, which got me here! But I really enjoy eating well now, and for that you have to cook, no more fast food if I can help it.

I have found, though, you only get the yellow star if you ask for the most variety in your menu, possibly also most recipes. Try out the button on the right of the menu which says ‘change recipe and food variety’

Thanks for that info about soup substitution, Ossie, I was wondering the same thing.

Hi, Tstands. Regarding the soup, try using the exchanges listed in the Comments section – each cup or so is about 2-1/4 carbs and 1-1/2 fats; the carbs are equivalent to such things as a cup of rice, pasta, or similar starchy side dish or two slices of bread, and the fats are equal to half a Tablespoon of oil. It may be that it is not coming up on your menu because there are fats in other areas, but don’t worry too much about that – just swap it for the vegetables and dressing or sauce in your meal.
Regarding the quorn products – the program does not recommend processed products like the nuggets or burgers – it is preferable that you buy whole quorn and prepare it yourself.
Regarding the brownies: when you get your daily menu, click on the exchange information, and note where you see a yellow star – that’s where you can place a brownie.

Hi, Doreen, and welcome. You can eat the cereals however you want. If you like them with milk, you can either choose the cereal with milk option, or you can select cereal (carbohydrates) and milk (protein) separately.
