I’m completely sold on this diet and it’s wide range of healthy, nutritious and satisfying food. What doesn’t make sense to me however, is how heavily processed meats like ham and bacon as well as smoked produce, can be included? Any advice gratefully received

I’ve just completed day 1 as a newbie member and wanted some advice about a couple of things:

If a glass of milk is included on one of my daily menus, is it okay to use the milk allocation within coffee and tea, or do I need to drink it separately?
Is it okay to put a little butter on my rye bread, or only if it’s part of my daily menu?

I’m really looking forward to the week ahead which is full of delicious options…..

I toss my home fries, WITH 1/2 ONION , with a little olive oil and fajita seasoning and roast them in the oven… Not as much oil that way… so good!!WE HAVE THESE AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK BECAUSE MY HUSBAND LOVES THEM!

Hi, henglish. Glad to read things are going well. Mustard is a “free” food, so you can eat it without planning for in your menu.
With regard to the home fries, it would be 4 oz of raw potato or 1/2 medium potato – but once cooked with oil, it would weigh between 2.5-3 oz, depending on how much oil you use.

In the Menu Planner, there is an option of switching between metric and US systems. The rest of the materials are gradually being upgraded to include both as well. In the meantime, you can refer to this list of exchanges to get an idea of the volume of each cup of various foods.

Hi, lunowa01 (and thanks, Apensa!). We never erase anything, so you can get back into your current plan whenever you want. If we can help you with whatever is making you want to take a break, we’re here!

Thank you Apensa!

viclog, you can just about always substitute items. The important thing to remember is that you don’t want to substitute a good food choice for a bad food choice. There is a recipe for Tuna Salad and I’m sure that you can use that as a substitute for “Tuna”. Just mind the portions and that anything you substitute matches the TDC ingredience, i.e. don’t substitute a slice of SWG bread with an ordinary waffle. The TDC gives you many opportunities to chose alternate choices.

Hi, Just joined and I am a bit confused. So if it says tuna does that mean I have to eat plain tuna or can I make like a tuna spread? I also got game hen matched with salsa and salsa didn’t have a replacement or anything to eat it with, what do I do with that?
Thanks

Hi KaileeH,

This is in the works and is a great idea. In the meantime, feel free to take advantage of the search box in the Recipe area to locate the recipes faster.

dollgirl48,

Thanks for posting. We suggest starting with the pre-planned meals (21 Day Meal Plans), then after 21 days, switch to the Menu Planner. Remember, this is not a race. Success is around the corner 🙂

Hello I’m new to this and I’m trying to figure out where I can save certain recipes. This way I can search through my saved recipes for a meal, instead of going through 12 pages of recipes I don’t prefer. Thank you.

One more question? Should I do the 21 Day Meal Plan or the 14 Day Meal Plan to start? Thanks again
