Hi, after a few months I’m still a newbie. I’m old with some digestion difficulties. I’d like to understand better, besides the amounts, what combinations are essential to this diet. Also, how much fruit a day? The same regarding vegetables. I’d like to give a try on adapting this diet to my health needs and/or difficulties. I lost almost 7 pounds but gain back about 5lbs. Fibers in excess (for me) can be a problem too. Can you help me to keep trying? Thnanks.

Hi, Tonya, and welcome. Just ease into it. You don’t need to be perfect, and certainly not right away. Small changes add up and ultimately make it all second nature.

I have a feeling following this menu plan is going to be very difficult for me on at least two levels. First off I work a 10 -11 hour day so making some of these things at work wont be possible so I guess I will have to be vigilant and prepare things in advance to take with me. To do that means I will need to switch a great deal of foods in my menu as well.
Second looking at the portions of some of these things? OMG I am going to feel like I am eating like a bird definitely not use to such small portions ….sigh
I can only hope if I can stick to the plan and eat 6 times a day I wont feel so hungry to want bigger portions. As it stands now I generally only eat 2-3 times a day and yes tend to over indulge when I do.

Thank you!!! You just made my day!

Hi, Yohe.Judy, and welcome! I’m happy to answer your questions.
1) Definitely – just keep track of the amounts of rice, fish/eggs, and avocado – the rest is “free”. We do recommend that you consider making or ordering it with brown rice and using low-sodium soy sauce.
2) Brussels sprouts and other cruciferous vegetables are encouraged.

Hi all. I am new to program and just curious…

1) What about sushi? My family loves chinese, so I am wondering if I could get away with a little sushi…

2) What about brussel sprouts?

Hi, Bobbie. The trick to making a good choice is to check out the ingredients label and Nutrition Facts panel. In the ingredients list, the best ones are made of whole foods, without refined or genetically modified ingredients (including corn syrup) or artificial preservative, flavoring, coloring, or texturizing additives. In the nutrition panel, the best choices will have the lowest amount of “sugars”. Your best bet will generally be to choose “organic” products.
Example of recommended ingredients list: PASTEURIZED ORGANIC CREAM AND ORGANIC NONFAT MILK, ORGANIC CANE SUGAR, ORGANIC DARK BROWN SUGAR, ORGANIC CREAM [ORGANIC CREAM], ORGANIC EGG YOLKS, WATER, SEA SALT, ORGANIC SOY LECITHIN (NON-GMO, ADDED AS AN EMULSIFIER).
Example of ingredients list to avoid: MILK, SUGAR, CORN SYRUP, BUTTER PECANS [PECANS, COTTONSEED OIL, BUTTER (CREAM, SALT), SALT], CREAM, WHEY, MONO AND DIGLYCERIDES, SALT, CAROB BEAN GUM, GUAR GUM, NATURAL FLAVORS, CARRAGEENAN, LACTASE ENZYME, ANNATTO (FOR COLOR), VITAMIN A PALMITATE, TARA GUM.

Okay so I have a few questions. The other day I went to whole foods to try and see if they have all the food I would need here. I really enjoy sweets but I am gonna try very hard to stay away from them and only have them once in a while. Ice cream is definately one of my favorite late night snacks. I was wondering if I replace ice cream with frozen yogurt what brand would be the best to buy. I saw some at whole foods but they were all pretty full of sugar. Is that okay or should I just skip that all together?
