avaganto, I like your attitude too…..now tell me more about your daughter in law……nah…just kidding. You seem to be doing very, very well. My biggest problem is enjoying good food and when it is presented to me, I tend to devour more than I really should. The only defense I have is staying away from it whenever possible. I wasn’t kidding about the Vodka either. I’m not a “lush” but I do enjoy a drink with good company even though my company may be my pucca friend named Harvey. Maybe you have heard of him. The bottom line is: stick with it, be aware and don’t let your body weight, or looks dictate your life. In other words….ENJOY!!!!

Congratulations apensa and ermaphebus on your weight loss and to all Trim Down Club members who are seeing results in working the program. I won’t be weighing myself for another couple of weeks, but at the end of my second week and a couple days into my third I found out I lost 7 pounds so far. YES! Today is Friday and on Monday I’ll be starting my 4th week. Can’t believe 4 weeks have flown by so quickly. I LOVE the fact that my daily menus are printed out for me as a guide to follow. Otherwise I’d be wondering all the time “What should I eat or not eat now?” It is right there in front of me. Someone mentioned that they thought there was too much fat in their menus. HUH? I picked and chose all my favorite foods and there is almost no BAD fats in my plans. We have to have some fats in our diet. Everything in moderation! As a diabetic and and overeater, the only two things I absolutely can’t have in my menu plans are processed sugars and flours. Since being on my daily Trim Down Club menu plans, my blood sugar ( I take them early mornings before breakfast) have been the best they have been in a long time. My doctor is very happy and will be even happier when I see him next month and he see the weight I’ve lost Thank you Trim Down Club! 🙂

apensa: I like your attitude. Wish I had more people around me to root me on. I do have my daughter-in-law, who we consider the daughter we never had. She is behind my getting back to healthy 100%. But she is a couple thousand miles away. That is why I come into these rooms, just to chat with people who are where I am, and know what i’m experiencing. It is not easy. I’m usually upbeat and happy. Today I woke up with a blinding headache and felt icky all day. I’m feeling a little better now, but, my appetite has been off all day. I have eaten the right foods but not half as much as my menu plan suggested. I’m not going to worry about it though; sometimes our bodies tell us to take a rest for a day or too, to get back into balance. I’ve been drinking a lot of water and hot tea and taking Aleve…had a nap or two also. 🙂 Hopefully tomorrow will be a new day, a new dawn and all will be well again.

Erma, regarding the blueberry muffins; that is the way I felt about the Vodka I had the other day….lol. I just broke 150 the other day. My wife says it is because my fat is eating my muscle. All I know is that 149 looked so good on the scale.

Welcome, Nancy. I wish I were 63 with a bad back instead of 73 with nothing that works right…..LOL. Discipline and perseverance will get you on the right track. You were probably the type that could eat whatever they wanted whenever they wanted and I envy you for that. With the knowledge you will get from the group’s menus and recipe ideas, you will be on your way to a healthier you. As I usually close my little epistles, “Do as I say, not as I do.”……LOL

Hi there, guys. Just signed up. Feeling very encouraged by all of the information. Just to describe my situation, briefly, I am 63 and have never had a weight problem, that is until I turned 50 and hurt my back. Before I knew it, I had put on 40 pounds. Not being able to be as active as I was before, it has not only been difficult, it is a new difficulty for me. But, I will not give up.

Thanks Apensa! Yes, you can start your second week whenever you feel comfortable. Note, this is not a race.
Best 🙂

Glad to see a post in this group. I haven’t seen any activity for quite a while and when I tried to look up the group, I could not find it. Lew, I’m sure Ossie will get back to you ASAP. I don’t know what her response will be, but I’m sure that if you stick to the principles of the program, you will be fine.

Hi, weagweas, and welcome. And thanks, Apensa – yes, I agree with you. In general though, weagweas, it doesn’t have to be a perfect schedule – it’s particularly important that you eat at similar times each day (and of course, that you don’t load up when you’re least active). Most people are comfortable eating every 2-1/2 to 3 hours. As for the workout time, workout out in the evening is an excellent plan.

Welcome, Wegweas…………I just wanted to congratulate you on your dancing. I have two left feet but I imagine you are talking about “Modern Dance”. Great exercise. From what I have heard, you should have a meal one to two hours before exercising. Is that right Ossie?

Hello! I’m starting to get a menu together for my first week of the program and I have a question. I work from 9-5 getting up around 8 am. I’m planning on eating breakfast before work and my lunch is usually at 1 pm. I am not supposed to eat while I’m working with members. I was wondering if anyone had an exact schedule of when I should be eating my meals and snacks during the day so I can take a quick break at the same time everyday. I also do about an hour of “dancing” everyday after work and I don’t know if that is good or if I should be doing it at a different time. My problem is I don’t like getting up earlier than I have to. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Apensa! And a pat on the back to you for the great advice and for keeping the faith 🙂

Ossie…..just a little pat on the back for that write up. Really great advise and ideas.

PS: Stay away from places like the “Hash House A Go Go” in Las Vegas……LOL. Definitely a place to split…and you might still need a “doggie bag” Sure is delicious, though.
